Default Transportation to urgent care

Is there no taxi service available other than Uber available for “right now” transportation for someone without a smartphone.
I know someone in independent living who has at times has needed to go to urgent care for a few stitches or the like. (Something not requiring an ambulance ride and ER wait, etc).
Luckily I was around to give them a lift but I am not here all the time. Not sure what to tell them to do the next time they need urgent care but not ER. Routine doctor appointments are not a problem and can be scheduled and handled.

If the person is a resident of an Independent Living Facility there must surely be some sort of transportation in place at the facility itself. Perhaps dumb question, but have you asked at the Facility.

My thoughts exactly.

My dad was in an assisted living facility up north and the choices were ambulance or taxi. They did not provide transportation.

Well that is rather sad. One pays a great deal of money for these facilities and I would have expected transportation for a health issue to be included.

When it comes to an issue re a resident's health - I can't think of any facility that wants to assume the liability insurance coverage for that.
