Default Trauma Centers in Florida. Who gives permission to open them and why?

Also. Someone published a list of Trauma Centers but it appeared it may be only the Trauma Centers involved or run by Florida Health and did not list all level one and two Truama Centers. I believe University Hospital at Gainesville has a Level one center and Ocala is Level two and Orlando is Level One?

These are the state approved centers which, I believe, receive some level of support from the State of Florida.

This is an interesting story about the fights between hospitals applying for trauma center status.

State authorized trauma centers are partially funded by traffic fines.

Default Trauma Centers

Thank you everyone for your time and information regarding my trauma center questions.https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...es/hatsoff.gif

Just perhaps if we had a close-by trauma center, the lady could have lived???????
Wonder if the developer has looked into this subject?
If even in Leesburg.

Please read the excellent information above. IT is up to the STATE of FLORIDA to decide where and when to open a Trauma Center. A developer can't do that. The same with hospitals.. A builder/developer can build the building when permission is granted and a hospital company wants to run a Trauma Center.

I agree and trust me a level 1 or a 2, which both of us worked at does not mean you survive. Level 1 has staff onsite 24/7 for all services. We had more than once all the staff in the state would not have had a different outcome. Bad part about being a 1 or a 2 is. you see more death than a lower ranked hospital, because every ambulance and chopper comes to your front door. And sad to say at least in TV most have lived a good life, that trauma elsewhere just breaks your heart when they are so very young
