Default Trouble getting records from Tri-County Orthopaedics?

Has anyone had trouble getting their medical records from Tri-County Orthopaedics? I sent a request for records over a month ago and have not heard anything. There is no phone number, no address and no way to get in touch with them. I know the doctors in that practice went to different locations and I now go to the Unova office which has some of the former doctors from that practice. They can't even get the patient records and don't seem to know how to get in touch with anyone to try and get them. They said Tri-County is holding all the records and wouldn't let the doctors take them with them. I called Tri-County Orthopaedics billing number and they said they have no way of getting in touch with them either. Everything goes to a P.O. Box now. The billing department said that they have had many calls from people that haven't been able to get their medical records. Help!

Maybe "go public" with the problem - send a letter to the editor, call your state representative and state senator, contact your medical insurance company.

Good luck with this!

Dumb question: Aren't they all online? I went with the other two doctors and seemed like my stuff was all in the computer.

Default Which Doctor/Medical Group is Responsible for Your Records

Sorry to hear of your travails in acquiring records that are legally yours. Since the doctors who treated you were part of the the Tri-County Orthopedic Group, I would think Tri-county are legally responsible for maintaining those records. Perhaps a threat of legal action might motivate them to seriously try to find your records.

BTW, I had a similar experiences in the past. To end theses, I insist my PCP, in referring me to a specialist, "demand" a copy of all medical records generated From from my visit. In general this has working well.

PS: if Tri-County is a member of The Village Health System, TVHS has promised, to have all your records computerized, and available to any member.

I hope this helps.

The offices have moved and they have been super busy. I had trouble getting thru also but the phone company was the issue for several days. I think you have to get them a record release form and because of the move it might take longer than usual. I would just call and make sure that they got your record release form. I had to do it also. I think their new number is 352-973-4070. These people have been wonderful and so helpful to me.

Tri County is located in the Sharon Morse building, suite 552 on the 2nd floor. Maybe stopping by their office will solve your oroblem.
Correction... Dr. Cook and Dr. Williams are now at this location under Advanced Orthopedics.

I signed into my patient portal that I had with Tri County Orthepedics and all my records that used to be there are gone. It states that no reports are published. 😫

I had problems several years ago with obtaining my medical records. My three appointments were never dictated by the doctor after going back for a copy of my records three weeks after final appointment. My doctor was out of the country and not expected back for a week. I finally got a one page summary of all three visits two weeks later in the mail. I never went back.

I called the Advanced Orthapedics clinic (the other office that split from Tri County) and they said with the EMR (Electric Medical Records) system that they have had no problem getting records from Tri County for their patients. There is no Tri County in existence anymore. No phone numbers and no physical building so I can't contact them.
Unova (the new office of the other doctors that split from Tri County) says that they have not been able to get records for their patients and gave me no further explaintion! It's been six weeks since I filled out a transfer of records from Tri County to the new office of Unova. I've called and left multiple messages with the "office manager" at Unova on her voicemail for days and no one every calls back. I've talked to a medical assist at Unova and she indicated there is nothing she can do to help get records and is very frustrated. Im at a loss of what to do to get Unova to get my records and give them to me! I don't understand how Advanced Orthapedics can get their patient records and Unova cannot. All the doctors at both places used to be part of Tri County so this doesn't make sense.
