Default Neurologist

Honestly! I am hopping mad! I made an appointment for my son with Dr. Smirnoff neurology 2 months ago, and today we went to the office all ready for our "new patient" appointment......his appointment was not in the computer! The next appointment they could find was for November 28.....that is another 2 months away! I hate to have to go to Orlando to the neurologist, but it's beginning to look that is is our only choice.

My sympathies! I don't understand the level that some of these doctors' offices operate on. Their offices have screwed up both times I've had to go to the hospital for a procedure.

I will trade my appointment time with you. Mine is Oct.25th at 1:00. I have enough medicine for 4 months so I can wait until November.

That office is a mess! I managed a Dr.'s office and can't believe the problems we encountered. After a year of scheduling problems, unreturned phone calls and 2 hour waits, we decided to move on. The aggravation became too much.

We found the neurology center at Shands in Gainesville to be helpful, and for serious problems, well worth the drive.

And that is good to know and from someone whose opinion I trust.

I would be hopping mad too!!!! He should have accomodated you.

Time to find a doctor who's on the ball. It is my experience that some doctors will defend their office staff. Personally, I would fire him as they think thir time is the only time that is valuable.

Just sayin........

I've been a receptionist in a doctor's office (years ago)...they should have worked you into the schedule. There are doctor's offices here who could use a good revision of policies! That being said...the few there are...there are others who are very good!!!

Oh, thank you very much for the offer....They actually called today and said they had a cancellation, and could we bring Patrick in this morning....we took him in.

That is so nice of you to make this offer.

A good example of practicing random acts of kindness.

Default Just an update

I didn't post an update on our experience at Dr. S's office. We took the cancellation appointment, sat in the office for over an hour, but when the doctor came in he just told us that he didn't want to be Patrick's doctor because he couldn't have a good relationship with us.

We of course said we agreed, and left the office.

He did a great disservice to Patrick, who was the patient, because he didn't like me. They should have been up front and told us straight off they didn't want to take Patrick on as a new patient.

Patrick has a very low IQ and he really didn't understand any of it.
