Mine did too and everything went well for him too. Staff were kind and caring and very professional.

I’ve always had excellent care at the Villages hospital in the past couple of years.

Is this an April Fools Joke?

Just kidding. We have found that the Waiting Area/Emergency Room can be a frustrating third world experience and if that's as far as you get you probably have seriously negative reviews. My wife actually spent the night on a bed in the hallway before major surgery.

Now once you get upstairs things are very different. The surgery went very well and the quality of care and service once you are in your room is good.

So hopefully things are getting better all around.

You are right, if you have to go to the hospital, going thru the ER sets a bad tone for your stay.
Late February ER lived up to its poor reputation.

Agree.
Obviously better to come in the front than the back. ED' everywhere are busy and have limited rooms available...thus why you see so many on a 'wall'. Glad that your wife ultimately had a good outcome

Fair point, people who go there for scheduled procedures seem to generally have an OK experience. Going through the door of the ER is like entering the gate to hell. Unfortunately, many Villagers have had the extreme misfortune to have to go to the ER.

Is the solution to try & go to one of the free standing emergency rooms (if one is close by), in preference to the hospital?

Depends on the need.

If you need to be admitted to a hospital, you must then be transported to a hospital.

Golf cart accessible? That’s what forced me to the Hospital ER.

Went to the Villages Hospital ER a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised at the attentive care I received. No waiting in the ER. They took me in right away. Assigned me a nurse to take care of my needs. Totally surprised since I had gone to the Leesburg hospital a month before and it was a horror.
