Default We are looking to change our primary care provider.

We live South of 466, close to Sumter Square.
Any suggestions for a general practitioner/internist would be appreciated.
We are partial to the newer/younger/more recent medical grads.
The better the English the better.
To date we have been fortunate locating specialists eithe on TOTV or our neighborhood forum.

Thanx in advance to responders.

Default Primary provider

Good luck, btk.
I've lived here for 4 years, on my third primary provider and still not happy so will be watching this thread along with you!

Ditto. Arrived in May and my wife is already looking for a different primary care provider. Currently on a waiting list of 200+. I am satisfied, though marginally, and very satisfied with my endo dr for diabetis and podiatrist for feet.

Thumbs up

My wife and I have used Rivers Family Medicne for the past year and have been pleased with their service. This is their web site http://www.riversfamilymedicine.com/index.htm On it you can read about their doctors and some staff.

Default Doctor

I use Dr. Alain Smolarski on Old Camp Rd. Very pleased with him and all the other Drs. I've found since I got here. A lot better then the horror stories I heard about Florida providers.

Default doctors

Someone reccomended Dr.Rivers to us, we called....six month wait for new patients, not acceptable ! We both go to Premier Medical Assocs, have different doctors there and are quite pleased with the whole place. They have offices in Lake Sumter and also near the hospital.

Default Dr..Clarissa Abrantes

Dr. Abrantes of Premier Medical Associates was found after first trying a few others that seemed more interested in squeezing the last medical dollar out of me than my actual health problems. Dr. Abrantes only does necessary testing and does not pressure you into doing anything you do not want to do.

She is conviently located in the Old Campus medical center next to Sweetbay so she is cart accessable. She also has SS offices where the main heavy lab equipment is located but her LS office has all the basic equipment needed for most needs. She is also well versed in Sleep Apnea unlike one of my previous doctors who wanted nothing to do with it. My wife says that she also does the basic femine type testing that her gyno used to do.
