I look around at the people ignoring the safety guidelines and marvel at the number of people who have nominated themselves for the Darwin Award. As an asthma sufferer, I’ll be hiding out until there are treatments that reduce the likelihood of death. Especially for people like me.

Because life has to go on and we have to adapt to changes we face.

People need to work. They have families to feed. Unlike retirees who are are on fixed incomes. If you don’t feel safe going out, just stay home.

First of all, your numbers are off. I just checked them this minute and you’re about 300 high (1687) on the new deaths and you are way low on the recovered (223749) Secondly we’re not going to destroy our country economically over something that now as we find out more people have this is no more deadly than the flu which we never shut down for. If you don’t want to open up then stay home. That’s your choice, but you don’t have the choice for the rest of us.

All those who are receiving income or financially solid and want things to stay closed should have no say in the matter. And, remember, two years ago almost a million were hospitalized and there were about 80,000 deaths (per CDC) and nothing closed, nothing in the news about it either You have trade offs to make. There are millions suffering with zero income and many sit at home fat, dumb and happy. Nope. You are free to stay home but the others must get back to work (you do realize payroll taxes fund medicare, et. al., right?)

Another thing.....are we going to close down again next year? the year after? You realize sooner or later we will be hit again with another flu epidemic, right? Next time, nothing closes. You have to trust people will take precautions to protect themselves (like we have before) and others can stay at home again fat dumb and happy if they want. Otherwise, it's goodbye USA and by that time you probably should learn to speak Chinese.

Fear does not stop death. It stops life. And worrying doesn’t take away tomorrow’s troubles. It takes away today’s peace.

How does one get their sustenance if they cannot go out? Even the people who need to stay at home need food, money from the bank, religious services, etc. My husband and I have stayed home for almost 4 weeks but we see other people gathering in large groups without masks. WE WENT TO A REC CENTER AND SAT IN THE PAVILLION, NO ONE BUT US WERE WEARING MASKS. THE OTHER GROUP WAS A GROUP OF 25 PEOPLE AND ONLY ONE WORE A MASK. THEY WERE NOT SIX FEET APART.SINCE I AM IMMUNOLOGICALLY SUPPRESSED DUE TO CHEMO, I AM AT AN EVEN HIGHER RISK THAN OTHERS. tHE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES THAT CDC PUTS OUT ARE POSSIBLY KILLING US.

First of all, you messed up the quote function. I didn't say what you quote, coffeebean did.

Second, you can easily get groceries safely using curbside pickup or delivery. I haven't used paper money for six weeks, just credit cards. Religious services are all over the internet and TV. Nobody is going to kill you, just stay away from people.
