According to the TVHS website all the physicians at all the care centers are board certified. If in doubt, go to the website. Under Care Centers you can select each center where you'll see a profile of each doc. I hope this makes you feel better.

I do regret your experience tho. You said you are researching docs at Colony and Pinellas and they are not board certified, I beg to differ with that statement, better check again.

I said I didn't see that any of them were board certified. I didn't say they weren't. I looked them up on Google and it had their education and degrees. None of them said board certified. Maybe you could suggest a site to look on that would tell me different? Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Yes. I go to him and am extremely happy with him.

There does not appear to be one definitive website with dependable up to date medical provider info. I was looking at one doctor earlier today on three different sites. There were different spellings of his name and one had a three year old address and clinic affiliation. The third did not even show a clinic affiliation. A few years ago, I was looking for a board certified endocrinologist. Every one that I looked at in central Florida was not listed as board certified. All of that information turned out to be very dated or just plain wrong.

Happi, I don't think there is any one perfect source to be had, but you can download the 2014 Physician Directory PDF file from the Central Florida Health Alliance at Leesburg Regional Medical Center | Central Florida Health Alliance | Leesburg, Florida. Just scroll down toward the bottom of the page and click "VIEW A PRINTABLE DIRECTORY."

You can also check out Villages Health physicians at Pinellas Care Center | The Villages and there's a drop down menu for other locations as well. The doctor's availabilities are also indicated on those pages!

I don't dispute the frustration the OP experienced by not being able to see the primary and being directed to see an Urgent Care facility. I would have been disgusted to be seen by the likes of a so called medical professional as you described. I think I would have made my concerns regarding overheard conversation known to him just after I asked if he was in fact the dr on call based on his playground attire. A phone call to the higher up should be made. If for nothing else you'll feel some satisfaction.
I have routinely dealt with Paramount Urgent Care on 466 and always have been pleased with the care and professionalism.

Raymond Dominick, MD is the owner of the urgent care in Sumter and also the one on 441 in leesburg by the airport. I have been to both offices with satisfactory results. I believe he is only at the Sumter office on Thursdays.

I go to Dr Felix Agbo. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

Office staff is friendly and efficient. One of the reasons I go is because during my "meet and greet, Dr. Agbo explained, he keeps slots open, for such an emergency condition, for his patients. I found this unusual that a doctor would do this for his patients. I'm also sure the office staff would try to accommodate someone, who is in dire need of treatment.

The doctor at Urgent Care (behind Bonefish Grill) I went to last week for the follow-up exam and two weeks prior to that was very professional.

You might want to check him out.

Where to start ........I needed to see my primary physician today for a problem that has been bothering me for a week. Before you crucify me, I waited a week because I thought it would get better and I HATE going to the Dr. I'm not one to just jump in the car and go see a Dr. At the drop of a hat. I am told that it would be the 19th before I could get in to see my Dr and to go to Urgent Care. As this has happened once before, me not being able to see my Dr., I was not happy. I let the receptionist know that I have a primary dr so that I can avoid going to Urgent Care and the ER. She told me he fills up fast and go to Urgent Care. After further discussion of how unhappy I was, I hung up. Because I had no Other choice, I went to Urgent Care in Sumter. Luckily, there was only one person ahead of me.......I still waited for 40 minutes. Not sure how that can be. So, I was ushered into a room where I waited for about 15 minutes for the Dr. To come in. As I was sitting there, I overheard people singing happy birthday. Then I heard a male voice ask a female if she had had birthday cake, to which she replied "no" and then she said something else I couldn't understand. The male voice said "you should have had some it was good". Then I heard the male voice say "you didn't want a lap dance? Don't you like lap dances?" At this point my mind was wandering .......who was this creep talking about lap dances? Then my door opened to my room and in came the "Doctor". I use that term loosely. It was the same person talking lap dances. I recognized the voice. He walks in with balloon like, baggy, bright surfing like pants on, sneakers and a sweat shirt. My jaw dropped. Thank god he only had to examine my ears and throat because he sure wasn't touching me. I was appalled that this person would be so disrespectful to his patients and to the medical practice in general. He was obviously eating cake while I was waiting for 15 minutes in the room. I can see he has his priorities straight. I will never go back to that care center if he's the Dr. That's on. I am losing my faith in the medical system here each and every day. I am also switching primary care doctors. Probably going to Colony Plaza or Pinellas. Trying to research the available doctors. I don't see that any of them are board certified. It scares me.

Names names names- otherwise :boom:

The Dr. I saw was Dr. T. J. McNichol. I am looking into who to contact to write a letter detailing my experience. Perhaps Raymond Dominick as he is the Director of that facility.

Yes, he is. I know a number of people who have returned to him as their primary doctor. He has a wonderful reputation.

He left for a while but is back in The Villages with his own practice. Phone 352-750-6650
He is across the way from the Sharon Morse building. Yesterday I noticed his picture and ad in the newspaper.

The State site for looking up practioners' licenses is Healthcare Practitioner License Search
On that site it will tell you education, background, location, hospital affiliations, and whether or not Board certified and if they are licensed in any other state. Will also give you a history of any malpractice and whether or not they carry malpractice insurance.
