Stay on 301 all the way to where it connects with I-95 about 5 miles before the Delaware Memorial Bridge. I’m pretty sure that you know your way from there.

US 301 is an old truck route before I-95 was built. The speed limit is 55 mph. The road is very lightly travelled - everyone is on I-95 - and you may find yourself the only one on the road. This is mostly farm country and you bypass Washington and Baltimore.

Following this route, I usually arrive in Manhattan around 2 PM.

I drive round trip to Manhattan twice a year. This is the route that I have developed over the last 10 years.

I leave The Villages at about 6 AM and take 301 North to I-10. I stop in Starke for breakfast about 8 AM. 301 to I-10 is about 15 minutes longer and saves 70 miles of driving than I-75.

After a few pit stops, I get to Stony Creek, VA, Exit 33, around 6 PM. There are two hotels alongside each other - Hampton Inn and Sleep Inn. Also, a pretty good Italian restaurant and a Denny’s.

I leave at 7-7:30 AM and continue on I-95. I never take the Beltway I-295 around Petersburg and Richmond. To avoid the always heavy traffic around Washington, I get off I-95 at Exit 104, VA Route 207. 12 miles up, Route 207 connects with 301 at Bowling Green. 301 will join with US 50 East, split from US 50 after passing through Annapolis and crossing Chesapeake Bay. And back onto 301. Back on 301. there is a small outlet center a few miles up in Queenstown, MD.

    More to follow -

Hello, Regarding your TOTV query on property taxes: I came to your site here to see where you lived, that maybe that could help you figure out your tax query. I happened to notice that you have your complete date of birth listed. None of my business, but I consider it risky to list your DOB on a public site. Best wishes, Nancy
