1. Insulate over the garage. Make sure your soffit vents are not covered. 2. Insulate the garage door. HD and Lowes have kits for $99. Solar Guys will do it for $199. If you have windows in the doors get enough material so you can cover. Reflective side out. Cut to fit or get strip Velcro to hold panels in place. 3. Vent the attic over the garage. You can have a pro add a ridge vent over the garage or conventional convection vent(s). Solar Guys will add a solar powered roof fan/vent for $500. 4. Consider adding a 6" insulated duct from you AC through the attic. Put a damper in the vent so you can close.
Some suggest adding a fan with a thermostadt in the ceiling, but to effectively push air out you have to draw air in. Means vents in the bottom panels of the garage doors. You garage will be the temperature of the outside air. Also, you will be pushing the hotter air into the attic. Is there excess roof venting to exhaust that additional air? Electric bill? Hope this helps.
