Garage To Hot In Summer!

Garage To Hot. Recently moved into Villages. We noticed our home was insulated properly. However the storage area over the garage (entire garage too) has NO insulation. First I'm wondering if that is normal as our previous home in Jacksonville, FL was completely insulated over the garage. Our home faces West so we get full afternoon sun and it's extremely HOT. This makes our A/C run more and it was really sweating (moisture) this past summer from all the extra run time. We never had this problem before as we had big Oak trees that shaded our home. What steps have others taken to reduce and correct their garage heat problems. Thank you for your suggestions/stories.

Question when renting for a month. How can you be sure the classified rental advertisement on this site is NOT a scam. I would hate to send a check for a monthly rent to someone who doesn't own the property? Thanks
