Looking for a Guitar group. A couple of years ago there was a club at the Paradise Rec Center where a bunch of guitatist would play together. I don't see this group in the Villages' club listing anymore. Any groups out there?

Rather than driving down to my house in The Villages, I am planning on flying and will be staying thru mid November. Does anyone know of a company (not the big name ones) that allows long term car rentals?

Hi Villagers. I am a recent widower snowbird and will be returning to my home in Amelia Villas in about two weeks. The long lonely drive down from L I is something that I dread.

During Jan thru June I had my car in the Vlgs and like most of us, hardly used it. I doubt I drove 100 mi.

I was thinking of flying down to the Vlgs and was wondering if I could "privately" rent a car from someone from about SepT 20th thru Nov. I have no idea what a fair price would be. Nor do I know the insurance ramifications. I probably could get by without the car but I always like to have a car available to me.

My driving record is impeccable. I have never had a ticket or accident. I do not drink. The car would be used for the occasional social visits to friends in the Vlgs who may be too far to drive a golf cart.

I don't even know if this is legal. Look forward to any thoughts or replies..

At 3:38 this afternoon, I rode over to Glenview to practice some chipping and putting. I noticed there were no golfers on the T at Fox nor were there any as I looked up the fairway. I decided a quick 9 would be wonderful on this glorious, blue skied afternoon. I approached the nice lady in the starters' booth and asked if she would be able let me go play nine holes after paying the appropriate green fee. She told me "there were no slots available and there are more golfers coming up until 4PM". I asked her why wouldn't I be able to just pay and go T off. I would not be in anyone's' way. I was being very polite but it seemed like I was annoying her. What ever rule there was, she was not going to bend it. I walked away disappointed. I continued over to the putting green and practiced for about 20 minutes and not one golfer showed up and not one person teed off. The golf course was wide open. So much for "Florida's friendliest home town".

Looking to purchase a used golf cart. Any advice. I'm new to the Villages. Between 4 and 5 thousand works for me.
