I am not a real NJ transplant. I lived in Bloomfield twice, briefly. Once in late fifties when working in East Orange and again in the mid sixties while working in Downtown, NY.
However, I have fond memories of our time there. Our eldest son was born while we were there. Some of our favorite destinations were Sandy Hook State (National?) Park, Asbury Park and Lake Hopactong. Made some lasting friendships.
My last motorcycle was a 1932 Indian Scout. Had it when I was a teenager.

I'm originally from Brick - graduated BTHS in 1960 - having a mini-reunion in TV this Saturday 10/18. There's lots of Jersey folks in TV - I've been living in Florida 40 years and TV for the last 7 years. We're in the Piedmont Village. This is definitely the last move for us - we absolutely love it here and you will too. We ride a 2-wheel Goldwing and have found the Ocala horse country to be beautiful scenery and roads. Good luck relocating - this is a great time to buy in TV.

Another Jerseyite here. We live in Brick. Our home has been on the market for almost 2 miserable years and we just can't sell. We are so ready to move to the Villages!!! My hubby and I are renting there for the month of March. How long will you and your wife be there during the winter?
My husband recently sold his Harley as we thought sure we would be buying a new golf cart to take it's place!

My wife and I were down in Aug. 2008 for a brief Lifestyle stay. We are very interested in becoming "Villagers". We plan to spend more time in February, 2009, and will be putting our home in NJ on the market as soon as we can clean it up and make repairs.
I will be interested in hearing from other NJ transplants, and motorcyclists.
