George and Jiminy

The following is a caption for the attached photos. I met George and Jiminy on a recent bike ride.

Jiminy the Parrot could not have landed in a better place than on the shoulder of George Hollis. Hollis, a five-year resident of Tamarind Grove, rescued Jiminy who had been �dumped� by her original owner. �These birds take a lot of specialized care and some owners just don�t realize how much is involved,� Hollis said. Jiminy, who is 15 years old, is now living the lifestyle with his owner who takes him for golf carts rides three or four times a week. �We have two or three favorite spots that we like to visit,� Hollis said from his bench overlooking the Buena Vista Bass Pond. Jiminy also likes the Tamarind Grove post office area. Hollis, who is a member of The Villages Parrot Club, said Jiminy has bonded closely to him and his wife who cooks special meals for the bird.
