Re: your inquiry about a trench for your AC condesation,
Not sure what you have in mind, I've been told by one of the AC tech guys that on a hot damp day, your AC removes 50+ gals of water from the air, It has to go somewhere,
Oh Sundays there is a home show on 96,5 FM, They give out a phone number and you can call in or text your question to them,
You might also call the Villages, They are very helpful, I assume like most things you are not the only person wondering and there are likely restrictions on what you can do, Perhaps, an easy, in expensive solution is a dry well, A metal or plastic barrel with holes bored into it, The barrel is filled with gravel and thus you have a buried void for the water to go into,

We used and have recommended to many others, Doug a tD & E Aluminum, (352) 434-7490. Two brothers own the business and everyone we know who has used them has called us back and thanked us for the recommendation. Reasonably priced, outstanding work.

If you do a search, you will find LOTS of info on this site. Personally, we installed a Sears whole house filter and water softener (separate units), now available as combo units. The water is so good, we no longer buy bottled water. Now with Sears potentially going bankrupt, I would look into similar alternatives from others (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.). With the cost of the plumber included, the total was around $1200, uses very little salt, around 6 bags per year. Hope this helps.
