    My wife and I have started our 5 Year Plan for early retirement. We have a very short list of active adult communities we are considering a move to when we retire in 2025 or sooner. Currently

    “The Villages” is our TOP choice, primarily for the location (I am a Native Floridian) and numerous opportunities to enjoy an active retirement lifestyle. We do not golf but would definitely like to learn once we retire.

    When we are 100% sure of our choice, we plan to rent for a period of 6 to 12 months before purchasing or we may decide to purchase a home now and rent it out until we are ready to relocate. Learning about the community via this forum hopefully will help us in our final decisions.
