Default Ten Things You Can Do for Your Mental Health

Try these tips to keep your balance or to re-balance yourself*

1. Value Yourself: Treat yourself with kindness and avoid self-criticism.
2. Take Care of your Body: Taking care of yourself physically can improve your mental health.
3. Surround Yourself with Good People: People with strong family or social connections are generally healthier than those who lack a support network.
4. Give of Yourself: Volunteer your time and energy to help someone else.
5. Learn How to Deal with Stress: Like it or not stress is part of life. Practice good coping skills like the Tai Chi, exercise, take a nature walk, play with your pet or even write a journal. Remember to Smile.

Indeed, those are self evident basics.

Here is my list, off the top of my head:

1) Play lots of golf
2) Swim a lot of laps, great mental and physical exercise which clears the mind and tones the body
3) Play lots with your dog, or get a dog if you don't have one
4) Exercise and eat well, if you are in good shape you will feel good about yourself
5) Avoid taking on any new responsibilities, they stress you out and create reasons why you can't do what you want, when you want
6) Enjoy good intimacy with your spouse or partner
7) Go dancing with your spouse or partner, then go out for a healthy dinner
8) Do everything you can to get a good nights sleep every night possible
9) Go fishing and then go bike riding when you get home
10) Go scuba diving, and only take pictures and leave behind bubbles

My list, for what it's worth

1. Stop eating carbohydrates - especially sugar.
2. Get aerobic exorcise everyday.
3. Stop watching television...It makes you a mentally ill ninny.
4. Get a small calm dog (Shih-tzu) and stay away from "rescue" dogs!

You will become a better person and you will attract better people.

Just some practical advice.
