The object of the game to run 8 balls calling the pockets.

The rules. Shoot 4 straight in calling pocket, then, you have to bank 5th ball ( cross or long rail banks, any bank one cushion or more) then shoot 2 straight (6th and 7th balls) and have to bank the 8th ball for out and win. Hence the name of game 5th and 8th.

If you foul or scratch you own ball and go back one (if made ball on scratch it don’t count, so you have spot two balls (or how many fell in pockets, plus one you owe) so the count added up)

You can bank any ball for straight but you have to bank 5th And 8th ball.

If three are playing you shoot 4 straight and bank two for win.

For above average player should be able to run out 40% of the time. You still have to control cue ball, be able to bank and work way through run.

Easy you say? Till you can’t make bank shot.
