Does anyone know how early to arrive on a Friday in order to obtain a good parking place and place to put a chair for viewing the match.

Someone mentioned something about tailgating with tbe golf cart before and I wanted to know more about myself. Do people bring their own food and drink and observe the matches from their carts?

On Fridays,if you arrive about a half hour before the game, you will have no problem getting a seat. They have several seats in the main stadium or you can bring your own. There is a full bar as well as food for sale.Different menu from week to week, but always hamburgers and hot dogs.
The best place to sit, if it is your first polo match, is on the first floor of the stadium.
A lot of "regulars" hang out there and are very willing to explain the game. You will have more fun once you know what's going on. When you tailgate in your golf cart you can bring your own food and drinks and you watch the game from the opposite side of the field.
No outside food or drinks are allowed into the stadium.
It's tons of fun and a beautiful day out. Enjoy !

I went to my first polo match on Easter Sunday last year. I decided to tailgate and brought my own food and drink. There was a $10 fee to tailgate and I was told to park in a specific spot. I unfolded my chair and sat in the sun for a while watching the match. When it got too hot, I sat in the cart in the shade.

It was so much fun and can't wait to do it again!

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, I am still working and not in The Villages. The good news is that I am retiring at the end of June so I will be there to enjoy polo by this time next year.

There are two polo seasons. Approx mid-March to end of May and then mid-Sept to end of Nov.

Thanks for the info. I should be in The Villages by the end of October so I will be able to get my polo fix sooner than I thought!

Went to the site mentioned in post 6, but it gives the schedules and fees for players and stalls - no mention of the general public????
