moving from one village to another (about 5 miles)
someone says the village mover with the black truck, someone else says the village mover with the brown truck, has anyone had a positive experience with either one?

I would suggest two ... The Village Movers (with the black trucks) I have used and highly recommend them. Their # is (352) 751-2750. I also highly recommend Mitchell Movers. I have met them at a few of my clients homes and they are very professional and easy to get along with. Their # is (352) 800-0597. Can't go wrong with either choice.

How do the movers determine the cost of moving within The Villages? Is there some sort of basic charge, then all depending on weight, etc.? Just trying to estimate what it will cost us to move from one 3 BR home to another.

Highly recommend Mitchell Movers (352) 800-0597. Used them last year to move from one village to another and was very pleased. Family owned business, reliable, polite and respectful of your belongings. Hubby was critically ill during the move, and I couldn't believe how accomodating they were.....even came back to help hang paintings, etc. I believe they all price based on the amount of items to be moved, the length of time they think it will take them, etc. I called a few companies for estimates and Mitchell was very competitive. Good luck with your move !

Black truck Villages Movers unloaded our Pack Rat (Properly Named) in 2 hours, 3 men all business no BS. $295 plus tip. No damage, they didn't even crack a smile till they were done. They are my mover for life. Every company I have used came from TOTV for everything so far so good.

Another vote for Mitchell's Moving. We used them last year to do multiple truck unloads (two different dates). They were professional, timely, communicated well via phone and email, and were fast with unload, set-up, and taking away trash and boxes.
