I think you are right! They are going to retire his number and give him the send off he deserves. We were fortunate to have been able to watch and witness the greatest QB to play the game. I doubt we will see another like him for a long long time! Thanks Tom for all the memories.

Isn’t it usually all about the money? Just read Tom Brady net worth 250 million and wife 400 million. Yeah, he needs 15 million more…

Tvflguy 01-30-2022 12:32 PM

Big TB12 fan here. If he does make that decision (sad). Wouldn’t it be something if Aaron Rodgers does what Tom did, and come down to TampaBay???

You'd leave that on the table, rather than wait another week to make an announcement?

A shame. Tom Brady has been a class act and consummate professional the whole way, which is more than I can say for his former coach Belichek.

I was hoping for a Brady vs. Rogers conference championship game. Sadly, it was not to be. THAT would have been worth watching.

davem4616 01-30-2022 01:35 PM

Now they're saying that it was fake news....that he hasn't made a decision to retire...and it's been retracted

TB12 apparently spoke with the Buccaneers and told them that he hadn't made up his mind, but will so shortly

my guess is that he'll choose to spend more time with his young family

it was a thrill to watch this guy play...especially when he was down with 2 minutes left and drove it down the field for a tie or a win

and now we have a new breed of exciting QB's to watch

exactly

laughing at all these armchair QB's taking shots at TB12....just green with envy that he didn't play for their team

he was the last one drafted, they all had an opportunity to pick him up

Why is he a big deal, he’s just another football player & that’s it. He’s nothing special. They’ll be just as good of football players coming up. Most people in TV are retired, yea they might not of made 30 million a yr. but that makes nobody any more special than anyone else. All retirees are special to someone! At least most retirees made it to 70 yrs. old that’s something special. Let’s see how old he gets before he dies, then we’ll see how his 100’s of millions helps him. He’s just another man!

That is also my understanding. I'm only guessing that the decision has probably been made but the official announcement will be forthcoming sometime after the 4th.

He'll wait until after Feb 4th, so he can get his 15 million signing bonus. Think about that when you ogle these guys.

Yep.

And Michael Jordan was just another basketball player, and Albert Einstein was just another professor, and...

In his 20 year career Tom Brady appeared in no fewer than TEN Super Bowls, winning seven of them. No single NFL team has won more than six. No other Quarterback has won more than four Super Bowls, and the ones who did were Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw, each with four Super Bowl wins.

A stellar supporting cast can maybe steer a quarterback who is a bit better than average to a Super Bowl win. Maybe two. But seven? Not bad for "just another football player", hey?
