Default Looking for a pickle ball 101 alternative

Hi all:

My brother and I are in town for the week and see there are no pickleball 101 classes available. Any advice on another option for us? We have tennis experience.

Thanks! Chris

Look in rec news bullentin, just go to any beginner session. Tennis players pick up pickleball very quickly. Or go to almost any group of courts early in morning, stand in line and just do it. You might go to courts later in day today, get paddles out of the shed, balls should be on courts and try it out to get the feel, etc.. Then give it a go tomorrow any courts early .

Do you know how to keep score? Do you know about the two bounce rule? Do you know we're to stand when serving and receiving? Do you know about the no volley line (area called the kicthen) if not probably need to go to begainng times (after 10am where posted in rec paper) some open players are there for high level game. Tennis great stepping stone to pickleball but it take some court time to get good understating of position. Just like when beginner tennis player wants to hit with advanced players. Not much fun for either.

I agree. For sure you want to stick to a court time & location designated as for beginners (not even advanced beginners). People there will be helpful, and you won't be interfering with the more experienced players' games.

You can google pickle ball and watch some You Tube videos, and also google the rules and terms as preparation.

Have fun!
