Default Hawk hanging out on our back fence

Our one villa backs up to a preserve and there are always big birds hanging out.

There was a Great Horned Owl a week or so ago and we got this guy eyeballing up a squirrel this week.

The Squirrel was frozen. He wouldn't move. He was making a sound, but absolutely still otherwise.

As soon as I opened up the slider, the hawk took off, the squirrel breathed a sigh of relief and ran off.

Yikes! I know it’s nature, but I’m happy for the squirrel.

Although tree rats are a pain, I'd rather the hawk feed on mice and other little rodents that might try to live in my house

Of course, since we're doing an addition right now, the soffits are all open and a squirrel seems to have found a new hangout.
