Birdcage and pool
We are considering a pool and birdcage on a golf course. Do birdcages stop golf balls or get damaged by them? Hope some of you on golf courses have some experience.

I have seen line drives hit the bird cages with no apparent damage. They must be strong.

We are on a Golf course --get hit ---at times --ball bounces off easily no damage --I think if the screen gets old and dries out it might damage it --we are here 3 years--- ok so far ----!!!!!!
Just remember --if there is damage the golfer is in no way legally responsible Good luck

'If there is damage the golfer is in no way legally responsible'
I didn't know that, I thought a golfer was responsible for damage. |

I think the building code requires that the screen can keep a person from falling in the pool, it's pretty strong stuff

Bird Cage And Pool
Your best bet .... is to contact a local professional, licensed, pool cage builder .... who knows the building code. He would be best prepared to answer that type question...

The location of the home relative to the golf course can make a huge difference. We live adjacent to a green on a dogleg right and behind the next tee and have never even come close to being hit by a ball. Fairways are more prone to result in long errant shots. I have a wicked slice myself, and over the years have bounced my share off homes in Texas and Arizona, so I picked my lot so my home would be safe from me when I play this course!

We live on a golf course and have had balls bounce off the top and sides of our bird cage with no damage. However, after 5 - 6 years the top panels especially become brittle due to the sun. Replacing a panel when necessary is not a big deal. We use Todd's Screen Repair. Does good work and is reasonable.
