The new Villages Macy's and the new Villages Nordstrom's are just down the road from the Villages Costco and Trader Joe's, aren't they?

Bett3164 Don't feel badly with everyone joshing about this. The rumors abound and this subject has been debated so many times. It would be nice to think there will be a store like Nordstroms or even a Macy's but it is pretty much a non event.

Here is a recent thread about this very subject with the main man of commercial development's own words.

That is the same story as the Publix being built at Brownwood -- until the Publix sign went up last week!!!

I don't think these big name stores realize what the potential is here yet. I wouldn't negate the possibility of it happening at some point. I for one would be thrilled to see stores of that caliber here in the Villages. Walmart, Bealls and Belk are great, but it sure would be nice to have some high end larger stores here. The mall in Ocala is pretty lame and Orlando is too far. I don't necessarily like shopping online for everything.

Thanks shcisamax for your welcoming comment. I did feel some of the comments were a bit harsh. I'd like to at least try and keep an open mind about this and other subjects that pertain to the Villages future growth and the desirability of living here.
