What's the fence next to McDonald's for?

There is a barnyard style fence all around the lot between McDonald's and Walgreen's. I just noticed it today. I wonder what it is for? It looks almost like they are going to put farm animals in there.

I would rather have farm animals than a mattress store, but that's just me.

Mattres One???

I believe They just announced that Mattress One was going over there somewhere. Perhaps they are preparing for that.

justjim 06-25-2015 05:30 PM

What McDonalds? There are more than one.

xkeowner 06-25-2015 05:33 PM

The Mattress 1 announced today in the Villages News is in Lady Lake Crossing. However, there are new stakes in the vacant lot between McDonalds and Tire Choice which could indicate pending construction.

How about a pair of buffalo in the newly fenced area? That should generate some comments.

OP, I see it's the McDonalds at Colony Plaza. I haven't even heard a rumor about this possible construction. I hope it's a restaurant---one that serves breakfast!

Villager Joyce 06-25-2015 06:08 PM

Yes. Breakfast.

Was probably done to keep people from parking there when they start construction on the lot next to McDonalds in Colony Plaza. There was some survey work being done there.

Really? Another breakfast place?

Breakfast is my favorite meal. What is your favorite meal?

We are talking about a Bob Evans, Perkins or maybe an IHOP south of 466A. Residents that I know living in "south TV" have been lobbying for a full service restaurant that serves a consistent good breakfast. :clap2:

South of 466A you have Daryl's Diner in Pinellas Plaza, Bonifay, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Scooples, Blue Plate (inside the Shell station at Colony) and soon TooJay's. Gator's Dockside was doing breakfast on the weekends and I don't know if this is still availabe. Last year Evans Prairie tried breakfast (menu, not buffet) and it was great and they couldn't drum up enough patrons so they stopped it and Mezza Luna tried it and it didn't catch on. Burke's Bar B Que is now offering breakfast.

In other words, no one has a clue was going to be built there. There was no mention of it in yesterday's Construction Update in the Sun.

New meeting venue for the fencing club.

You all mention Bob Evans, Perkins and IHop as your choices which all are chain restaurants. I too love chain restaurants and wish we had more here. I like to know what I am getting and that it will taste like it did last time I got it. I just can't get into all of these independently owned restaurants. Too much variation. I'll take a chain any day. I love Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn, Carrabas, Chilis, Applebees, Outback, Bonefish. Would love to see a P.F. Changs or a Cheesecake Factory and Abuelo's mexican here. For breakfast any of the three you mentioned have great breakfast.
