New Construction?

As I was traveling to the Walmart near Oxford, I noticed teams of surveyors and dozens of marker sticks being placed in the huge lot in front of Bealls. By chance, does anybody know what might be going to be built there?

Ooper 05-24-2017 03:42 PM

Petsmart is going in West of Bealls. This is the big lot South of Bealls.

Pet smart is on the side of Bealls where the machines are working I believe the Daily SUN posted . IF THIS is the piece in front of Bealls then it's something else

Petsmart will be built west (to the left) of Bealls. Additional parking will be added to a portion of the vacant lot between the existing parking and Wedgewood Lane.
See Attached File.

I was asking the franchiser of the Jersey Mike's location in front of Target if he had given up on putting in a second location in TV. Last year he opened a second location in Mt. Dora when he couldn't find a suitable place at Brownwood. He said they were putting in a small strip center next to Fresh Market and he was hoping to put a Jersey Mike's in there. They had requested their usual size footprint, a 1200 sf store at Brownwood and TV told them they had to rent at least 4,000 sf. They were unable to go into any of the new shopping centers at Pinellas, Traverse or Rohan because TV gave Subway an exclusive on those.

Nationally Jersey Mike's opened 197 stores in just 2015, which put them over 1,000 locations. They are now America's fastest growing restaurant chain and currently have 1500 locations either open or under construction.

Aren't there already shops which are one storefront wide or the equivalent of 1200 s.f. or at least something under 4000 s.f.?

We need a HumanSmart so we can keep up with our pets.

Trader Joe's would fit in that area maybe.

At Brownwood most of the eating locations are fairly large, even Five Guys, the only exception is the ice cream place. I haven't been in there, but it looks like maybe 2,000 sf at best. However, that place is owned by the fellow who operates five of the country clubs, so I guess they make exceptions for certain people. I would guess McAlisters is maybe 3,000 sf, but it's hard to tell without seeing the back. I can only tell you what the Jersey Mike's owner told me, he said 4,000 square feet was what they offered him.

Tell your friend to contact Barclay Group, the developer of Trailwinds Village, 727-733-7585. They just received approval from the Wildwood City Commission to proceed with constructing an 11,760 sq. ft.building which appears to have seven individual store fronts. One of those seven spots might be a good size for his business. The location looks good to me - facing 466A, ABC Liquors to the left, Lowe's behind, Aldi to the right.
