Do you mute commercials?

This is seasonal for us. Wonder when networks will figure out that maybe a zillion times of same commercial is a bit much?

Repetition is a form of brainwashing!!
We pre record 100% of everything we expect to watch......allowing speeding through commercials.

When I watch "Commercial TV" I always have a second channel selected so I just hit the previous channel button on the remote when a commercial comes on. It doesn't eliminate the commercials, but sure does reduce the time I have to watch them.

I find myself watching youtube for news. That's mostly what I watch. Sometimes I go off on a tangent for awhile, Mr. Rogers, cooking, golf, DIY. The commercial averages 5 seconds before I click SKIP. some netflix too----I can binge if I like a series

I record most programs I watch and fast forward thru commercials. My Pillow will never convince me to buy one.

Last night we could not find one single thing we wanted to watch on TV.

Why is it that programs from U.K. and Australia have amazing costuming and sets and usually great plots? All we have is unending commercials, you'd think all that money would give money to someone who could make a nice TV show. I don't want to see people on bachelor, bachelorette, or swing on things like monkeys or unending game shows. I don't like to see dismembered bodies or their interiors.

I know. Have another cup of coffee and shut up, Gracie.

And I would pay good money to see a news show without opinion.

Don't cut out too many commercials, I'll never get back from the bathroom in time.

I try to record as much as possible so I can skip over commercials, Watching television with commercials is a waste of time. IMHO

Always trying to sell you something you don't want or need.

I only watch sporting events in real time and I agree, commercials are a good time to take care of business.

Commercials - terrible and I mute them immediately and then go do something in the kitchen or elsewhere.

I have just got back from the Doctor's office for a routine check to see whether I am dead or alive and he told me he is recommending to all his patients to stop watching the news, any news channels, it is driving us all crazy.

I watch PBS and I can usually find some good European/Australian or Canadian program to watch, usually a good mystery with no gory details. I watch Hallmark, and most of the programs on National Geographic Wild and Science Station. I am addicted to Big Bang and Botched and a couple of other kinda junky programs that need no brain power to watch.

Other than that we read.

I must be the only person alive that sometimes like commercials; but only the first time I see them.
It's a good way to learn about new products. Who knew that Dyson only made sticks?
But I do not like repetitive commercials, and most of them repeat a zillion times. :ohdear:
I blame the need for repetition on dewilson who uses commercial time for bathroom breaks.

Some commercials seem a lot better than some of the shows that are on. I have favorite commercials though and often will view them if they continue some kind of theme like the Farmer's Insurance catastrophes of a humorous sort.

This. (So don't shut up.) TV is terrible these days.

I also like Farmer's commercials.
I'm actually thinking of using them for car insurance.
I ensured my Yesteryear golf cart with Foremost, which is an arm of Farmers.
When I had a garage fire, they reimbursed me immediately for the golf cart.

I seriously would not consider a Toyota due to the stupid commercial that is playing recently.. Bear (**it) in the wood, sliced bread.. etc.. they need a new Ad Agency or something. Is Darrin and Mr Tate still available??

Rapscallion St Croix 07-24-2018 11:22 AM

Not currently watching TV except for Jeopardy and golf majors. Waiting for college football to start up.
