Whole house water filter/softeners

I'm thinking of installing either a Aquasana whole house filter/softner or a Pelican. I know Pelican is out of Deland, close by. Any comments, experiences about either one would be appreciated.

We have a GE whole house water filter & a scale buster--IMHO Pelican is a rip -off-- been here 11 years--no water problems--also, IMHO--no need for a water softener in TV

Nova has a whole house water filter for around $600. They are honest, reputable folks who are a pleasure to deal with. The softener is usually unnecessary.

I went with NOVA and also got the softener. I think the total was about $1700.

The big box stores carry combination units, under $600, just plumb and add salt. We have Sears water softener and whole house filter, which I would normally recommend, but with what I believe is the imminent demise of this company, I would go with a combo unit. If you cannot do the plumbing, figure on $300 for the installation.

Have a GE system that came with the house. No problems and good service from TAS

Nova has installed hundreds in TV with 100% positive feedback at a great price. They're a sponsor of this website.

We have had our Nova system for 3 years now. No more smell or bad taste. No need for a filter in the refrigerator since it is a whole house filter. It is not a water softener. Very pleased with the product and service. Just have them change the 3 filters once a year.

NOVA! 6 years. Best in TVs.

Our whole house system was put in by Kiley Plumbing on 441. We are very pleased with the unit. Also, Kiley has put in a water heater & did the plumbing in our master bath, changing from 1 sink to 2. We have always been pleased with the phone/store staff & the installers they have sent to our home. It doesn't make any difference what unit you install -- just install it ASAP --you will be amazed when you change your filters - YUK!
