What is the cost of a new roof in The Villages?

Mrs Fox has mentioned on several occasions that our roof is 20+ years old.

Independently, and of my own free will, I may decide soon that we need a new roof.

Job One is to get some quotes and, while there are many variables, I should be interested in learning what you paid if you have had your roof replaced in the past two years. Our home is 2,000 square feet.

If you prefer, please PM me rather than reply to this thread.

Our house is a stretched Lantana, about 2650 sq ft. Had the roof replaced by McHale Roofing for ~ $17k last Fall. (To get homeowners insurance we had to agree to get a new roof within 30 days of closing because the house is 20 years old.) They also replaced the roof on our previous home (also a Lantana with a 2nd master suite addition, about 2900 sq ft) for $18,700 in March of this year. I highly recommend McHale. Great folks to work with.

Probably somewhere in the $12,000 range.

Just had our roof replaced last week. A standard Lantana with oversized garage and no cart garage. Just under $15K.

Wow those are some high prices. We had the roof replaced on our home we had in Tennessee about 3 years ago for $6,000 with top grade shingles. The house is 1,500 sq ft with a two car garage.

We are Brits with a second home in TV. We find every job on the house expensive compared to the UK.
We needed our roof replaced and went to Batterbee Roofing, following a recommendation from a neighbour. The first thing the sales guy said was why pay ourselves when the insurance company would probably pay. Now we are quite dumb when it comes to how things work in the US. So we were sceptical. But we went to our insurers and within a week their person had visited and we had a check for $10k. We were stunned - that would not have happened in the UK.
Batterbee then went through the various options and we went for a higher grade roof with transferable guarantee. Our roof is around 1800 sq ft.
The total cost was $15k.
The insurance company sent us a further check for just over $2k when the job was completed. Our deductible was $1k. Had we not upgraded the roof that would have been the limit of our cost.
Batterbee did a great job - as confirmed by the wind expert we had to produce our certificate for the insurers.
Hope that helps

Do you mind me asking why you were referred to your insurance company and the reason they paid money to you for your roof?

Just had new one on my villa (1200 sf) - about $11,000. Used Hightower Roofing.

We had some wind damage on our already aging roof. Insurance also paid most of ours. Had three estimates, most impressed initially with Quality roofing and more impressed after finishing the job in two days. Great folks to work with. gave us addresses to see what different colors looked like installed.
