yardages

Are the posted yardages to the front of the green or the center of the green?

I suspect middle of the green. At least that's the way it's usually done.

Center of green. I like to use my laser rangefinder to get an exact reading. The reflective prisms on the flag sticks at the Championship courses make it very easy and quick to get an exact reading. Now, if I could only consistently hit the ball close to the exact yardage?

Same as what was said above.....

Always the center.

Yardages

The middle. But don't forget to add yards mentally for elevation.

Or subtract. :)

yardage isn't much of a concern when compared to direction ;-)

Yardage markers

Yardage is to the middle of the green (in the South).

I always assumed it was for the entire hole, because they seem to move the markers in the tee box to coincide with pin placement on the green.

They are equally important. A shot that finishes 30 feet left of right of the hole is the same as one that finishes 30 feet short of long of it.

Of course the condition in which the balls lies may make a difference but assuming both balls land on the green, both shots are equal and direction and distance are equally as important.

I've noticed this on the executive courses as well. But that doesn't change the fact that the yardage from the plate is to the middle of the green. I think that they do place the markers and cut the holes, on par threes, so that the distance on the plate is close to how the hole is actually playing.
