New Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine 90% Effective! Will You Get It?

“The company said that the analysis found that the vaccine was more than 90 percent effective in preventing the disease among trial volunteers who had no evidence of prior coronavirus infection. If the results hold up, that level of protection would put it on par with highly effective childhood vaccines for diseases such as measles. No serious safety concerns have been observed, the company said.”

“Work on the vaccine began in Mainz, Germany, in late January, . . . BioNTech used a technology that had never been approved for use in people. It takes genetic material called messenger RNA and injects it into muscle cells, which treat it like instructions for building a protein — a protein found on the surface of the coronavirus. The proteins then stimulate the immune system and are believed to result in long-lasting protection against the virus. Other companies, including Moderna, are also using messenger RNA technology.
BioNTech quickly identified 20 vaccine candidates, and began testing them on rodents. But the company lacked the experience and resources to rapidly conduct a major clinical trial. So Mr. Sahin called Pfizer.”

Shoot me up! How about you?

All three of us are waiting with our arms outstretched. Several are being tested by the excellent facilities at Cincinnati Childrens Medical Center Research facility who has been ranked in the top three in the country for many years. I have had many dealings with Cincinnati Childrens and our 55 year old daughter still sees them for checkups for her congenital heart defect. When they say GO....we will get an order from our excellent doctor here in The Villages (Dr. Joseph Rizzi) and get those shots....I wonder then how long we will have to wait to have at least partial immunity established so I can once again SHOP AT PUBLIX. My dear husband has been our purchasing agent since March and he does his very best but this cook and grocery maven can't WAIT to waltz down the aisles of Publix once again.

Are you quoting an article in the New York Times as accurate and informative? You really should cite your source, not just quote some material.

if Dr. Fauci says it's ok, I'll gladly get it.
