Who else is very tired of Dr. Faucci and mixed messages?

.
.
Many times in the last year during Covid-19, I felt that Dr. Faucci was very informative, engaging, and presented information well. During the last months, my attitude has changed. I now feel that he is a Media hog, bends to political influence, and does not consider other factors impacting our overall "Health". There are many of Faucci quotes during the past 12 months that are confusing and erroneous.

But NOW I agree with Rubio> "Dr. Fauci is a very good public-health official. His job is to advise policy makers and inform the public," Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said on Tuesday. "But his job is NOT to decide what we can do, where we can go or which places can open or close And his job is NOT to mislead or scare us into doing the 'right things.'"

And his floundering of opening schools and lockdowns- terrible.

But his LATEST --- Fauci on Sunday declined to say on CNN that grandparents who are fully vaccinated could see their grandchildren, saying "I don't want to be making a recommendation now on public TV. I would want to sit down with the team, take a look at that."

So, if Faucci represents "Science", that's fine - but just as important to the Medical HEALTH of US citizens is Financial Health and Emotional Health. I don't believe that he takes everything into consideration for us all in terms of OVERALL Health.

Side note> Do you know that Faucci makes more in salary than the US President?

When he said last week we need to pass the stimulus, his credibility off the cliff.

JSR22 02-24-2021 12:48 PM

I have 100% respect for Dr. Fauci's expertise and knowledge.

I have confidence in the medical expertise of Dr. Fauci. (Spelled with one C) on matters relating to vaccines.

Early on, he said the USA has nothing to worry about.

Early on, he said wearing a mask is not necessary.

I have zero confidence in someone who changes his mind more often than a hooker at a bankers convention and believes The Who is doing a good job.

njbchbum 02-24-2021 01:16 PM

My mind boggled when he recently revealed that even when completely vaccinated and still practicing wearing masks, washing hands and social distancing we should not be dining in, going to movies/entertainment venues, visiting grandchildren, etc.

I thought he previously advised that being vaccinated would allow us to get back to some sort of normal!

If we have not suffered the virus in a year's time and we still can't do all of the above - why be vaccinated? We must be doing something right by not becoming ill during that one year period!

Exactly! With the stupid comments that come out of his mouth, he pushes more and more people to forgo the vaccine if being vaccinated still forbids you from returning to a normal life.

Could it be that things change because we learn more? The vaccine will protect you and if you don't care about others you can go back to normal. They don't know if, even though you probably won't get sick, if you can carry and spread. So if that's a possibility you decide if you want to protect your friends, kids and grand kids.

When whole numbers are sufficient folks like Fauci want to talk out at the 7th decimal place...having no significant impact on the whole number.

With no accountability or responsibility one can say whatever they want.....

Early on, that's what the available science indicated, combined with the needs of health care workers, who were experiencing a deficit of PPEs at the time.

And then, the science changed and so did the availability of PPEs.

If you can accept that the concept of "progress" is valid, happens, and can actually be a good thing, you can accept the above, without condemnation of the people who deliver the information.

jebartle 02-24-2021 01:50 PM

I respect Dr. Fauci and science, after that its up to our common sense.

Kenswing 02-24-2021 01:52 PM

Who else is tired of the Covid debate in general?

Re-read...................a statement of fact is not condemning. :ho:

Dr Fauci has kept us all alive for the past year. I trust him to keep us on top of all the latest information. The fact is, Dr Fauci is learning new information every day, just like we are. Every day there is something else to adjust to, and something else for Dr Fauci to disseminate to the world. We have never experienced a global pandemic and we are all just learning as we go. Give the guy a break. Frankly, what I worry more about is all the villagers wandering around with no masks like the pandemic is over. The truth is that if everyone had worn masks from the very beginning this would all be over. Ponder that for awhile.
