Denmark, Norway, Iceland suspend AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine over blood clotting

Denmark, Norway and Iceland on Thursday hit pause on the use of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine following reports of patients developing blood clots after receiving the shot.

Authorities in Denmark suspended the use of the vaccine for two weeks after a 60-year-old woman who received the shot developed a blood clot and died. She was reportedly given a shot from the same vaccine that was used in Austria, where authorities announced Monday they would stop vaccinations following the death of a nurse who developed blood coagulation problems days after being vaccinated. A second woman who received a vaccine from the batch was also hospitalized after developing a pulmonary embolism and is recovering.

Iceland and Norway followed suit Thursday as an investigation into the reports is being conducted by Europe’s medicine regulator, European Medicines Agency (EMA). Estonia, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Latvia have also suspended vaccinations. Italy also said it would stop the use.

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health also noted there had been reported cases of blood clots shortly after receiving Covid-19 vaccinations in Norway but "mainly in the elderly where there is often another underlying disease as well."

Spain's Public Health Commission announced Thursday that it was delaying the vaccination of people aged between 55 and 65 years old with the AstraZeneca vaccine until "there is a full review and conclusion of side effects by the European Medicines Agency (EMA)", according to a commission statement issued on Thursday evening.

AstraZeneca said the safety of its vaccine had been studied extensively in clinical trials and met the stringent efficacy and safety standards required by regulators. - End of News Story

In case you missed my earlier article explaining the reasoning as to why I was not going to be vaccinated, here is the short version...

These new COVID vaccines containing genetic instructions were rushed into use with extremely short trial periods. According to the IFPMA, the development of novel vaccines is a long endeavor. “It takes usually between 10 to 15 years to develop a novel vaccine, as well as establishing its quality, safety and efficacy.”

The NIH, CDC, Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), and the Department of Defense (DoD) combined to find the vaccine and dubbed the project OWS which stands for “Operation Warp Speed”. - Source/NIH’s National Institute of Infectious Diseases.

Bear in mind when you are being told that these vaccines are safe that this is the same government whose EPA said the air quality at the 9/11 site was safe for the cleanup workers, the DoD who had no qualms conducting LSD experiments on unsuspecting soldiers and said there was no cancer link to Agent Orange, and for-profit drug companies who market drugs in third world countries even though the same drugs have been banned in the U.S. and Europe due to harmful side effects. From 08/30/2017 to 02/03/2021 327 drugs previously approved by the FDA as safe & effective were recalled. This information was obtained from the FDA’s official website.

My final concern is that the COVID vaccines utilize genetic engineering. Messenger RNA vaccines (mRNA) vaccines have strands of genetic material called mRNA - source/CDC

Hopefully there will be no more severe effects resulting from any of the new COVID vaccines. Given the high rate of drug recalls by the FDA, I doubt it! Those agreeing to be vaccinated should realize that in actuality, they are the volunteer test subjects in what are likely the largest drug trials in world history.

Note: Many are amused that I quote a mainstream news source when in the past I have been arguing the validity of their stories. However, since so may people take the word of CNN, MSNBC, etc. as the gospel truth & use those sources to refute my views, I thought a bit of Turnabout is Fair Play would be appropriate.

The article gives two examples of blood clotting, and tens of millions have been vaccinated using the AZ vaccine worldwide. Doesn't look like a trend. No indication the vaccine is causative. 2.6 million people in the world have died from COVID-19. Tough call. BTW, COVID-19 causes blood clots at a far higher rate than this.

Perspective.
The batch used has been withdrawn for further tests to check for contamination.
Tens of millions of the shots have been administerd with no adverse reactions.
There will be more isolated incidents across all vaccines, but the overwhelming good they do, far outways the minimal amount of damage they may cause.
No medication, vaccine is without some side effects.
One of my daughters, along with millions of others, is allergic to Penicillin, should we campaign for the withdrawal of antibiotics?

2 deaths possibly linked to the AstraZenica vaccine out of 20M doses administered, the U.S. is not using that vaccine, and 60 Covid deaths in one day in one State: I prefer my odds with the vaccine.

Many (all?) vaccines contain genetic material; they sometimes contain the virus itself.

Confirmation bias is a real thing (and it works both ways)

To those who are not following closely. Astra-Zenaca is NOT given in the U.S.

It seems that the poster who tells us he won't get the vaccine is showing us in triumph that this indicates he is right because one older woman died from clotting after taking a Vaccine we do not use in the U.S.

I say that every vaccine administered is one life saved from literally choking to death from lungs filled with a dense sticky mucous that keeps oxygen from circulating through your body.

I am so surprised that a person who likely doesn't believe any story from mainstream news sources is trying to scare us with a story from CNN, which according to many posters is completely unreliable and full of left wing propaganda. I do hope the OP will return with the conclusion after the investigation is done as to whether the vaccine was a causative agent of clotting or this is another example of post hoc ergo.

Another mainstream news story that is linking the COVID vaccine to death.

OGDEN, Utah (KRON) – An autopsy has been ordered after a Utah mom died just four days after receiving the second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, KUTV reports.

Kassidi Kurill, mother of one, got the vaccine due to her work as a surgical technician for several plastic surgeons, the local news outlet reports.

“She was absolutely fine with getting it. In fact, she told all of us, ‘It’s fine, you guys should all get it,’” her father, Alfred Hawley, told the outlet.

According to Kurill’s father, her arm was sore after the first shot and she experienced no other side effects, but it was when she received her second dose things went wrong.

Kurill landed in the ER, where “she was very, very sick, and her liver was not functioning,” Hawley told KUTV.

Kurill was transported to a trauma center in Murray where she was reportedly to receive a liver transplant. She died 30 hours after arriving at the hospital, KUTV reports.

Compared to the number of people that have been vaccinated your numbers are statistically invisible. Enough of the agenda driven posting already.

There is more to this story. What I found very compelling is that this woman's father decided to get his second Covid vaccine AFTER she died. He must have decided the benefit for him outweighed the risk of a vaccine that has been put in millions of arms without severe reactions or death.

“Qualifications”
 

The stated “RN, ASN, EMT-Paramedic” qualifications are admirable. However, they do not constitute; nor are they a substitute for, the qualifications of a research virologist.

Dr. Vin Gupta, who is a REAL medical expert specializing in CV and CV vaccines, said that it is "VERY UNLIKELY" that the Astra-Zeneca vaccine caused the blood clotting in these examples. He said that it will likely be used by the anti-vaxxers as propaganda to promote their anti-science viewpoints. It will hurt Astra-Zeneca's reputation in the US during a time when every "tool in the toolbox" is needed. The Russians want to sell and use their own vaccine for vaccine diplomacy - so it is logical that they would like to shoot down the reputations of their vaccine competitors - and they have their team of propaganda hackers that can make it happen. So, they have the motivation and the tools, and the history of wanting to destabilize the world and especially the US - I conclude that they have done that. Also, the anti-vaxxers serve as a great wedge issue to split apart Americans!

IMO china bigger threat than Russia, not saying Russian not threat. But China created this virus crisis.
