My wife knows better than to take me shopping for anything other than food or something we are ready to buy.

I go buying, my wife goes shopping. Two totally different activities.

True.

So very true. She goes for something and gets distracted by 16 other things in dept store.

While "shopping" if you truly want my honest opinion, probably best not to ask.

Simple.
 

Men are hunters. We seek it out, we bag it, we drag it home.
Women are gatherers. They go out with the intent to see what they can find, bring back everything that strikes their fancy.
Admittedly this is an old stereotype that goes back a long time when men were the bread winners and women took a more domestic role. Still, sometimes, it seems that some of those traits seem ingrained somewhere deep in our genetic makeup.

Oh for the good old days when we went hunting found the woman we wanted, hit her over the head and dragged her home.

Reverse for us, hubby is an inveterate shopper. Especially for groceries. He goes in for milk and comes back with 5 full bags of stuff.

So whats the problem?

What really gets me, is seeing young couples on so-called dates at the restaurant with both of them on their phones. I have actually nicely berated couples and youngsters by saying how pretty their dates are why don't you actually talk to them! They left and put down their phones for at least 5 minutes

I have one of those too!
