Trying to shut off breaker that is serving the doorbell. Anyone have an idea? Obviously none are marked Doorbell.

Try the Search->Search Forums and enter "doorbell breaker." You should get this result.

Try the one marked "garage" and the one marked "golf cart". But, if you are just replacing the doorbell, it is not necessary to shut off the breaker because the doorbell is low voltage and powered by a transformer, that is probably located in the attic above the garage. I replaced my doorbell with a Ring device, and had no problem leaving the breaker on.

Still nothing. Am I the only one who can't see anything on Post No. 4?

On our house (2013 Gardenia) the door bell transformer is on the same circuit as the attic light, so turn on the attic light, and start turning off circuit breakers one at a time until the attic light goes out, then try the door bell to confirm.

On a side note not sure why you need to turn this off, the voltage to the door bell and the switch is less than 24 vac, and typically around 18 vac which is very easy to work with and if you accidently short the door bell switch wires all that happens is the door bell rings.

In my circuit breaker box, the toggle for the doorbell is labelled CHIME. More specifically, it is toggle #14 and it says: "Garage, Attic, Chime". (fyi, my house is south of 44 and was built 2 years ago)

Probably because all of the smart doorbell instructions say to turn off the breaker to the existing doorbell before installation. Although it really isn’t necessary.

Very strange. On my screen, Post No. 4 shows my quoted post, and then no reply. Does anyone know why some people can see a reply and some see nothing?

In your profile, go to "User Settings". Click on "Edit Options" (in "Settings & Options"). Scroll down to "Thread Display Options". Make sure the box marked "Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)" is checked...

See if that works...

I checked that several weeks ago when this happened. The option is checked and always has been.
