I had Hoped I could put Covid behind me but guess Not

I put my Masks away and thought I could move on, especially since I am double Boosted but seems not. I see more Villagers wearing masks and now the President has Covid. I am very grateful to be vaccinated and Boosted since that may keep me out of the Hospital if I get new strains but the newer Omicron variant seems very contagious,

I found this information and it is clear we are on an upswing. I was surprised that less than half of us are Boosted. Masks are now an option again for me indoors and in confined spaces with many people.

Covid Act Now

Do we need another mask debate?

No new mask debates. It's simple November is coming.

Expect the usual cast of characters.

Yesterday afternoon I wasn’t feeling great. Thought it was maybe a summer cold coming on.
But a broke out the Covid self test kits, just in case, and I tested positive.
So far my symptoms are very mild, mild temp, sniffles, dry cough, breathing ok, and general malaise. I’ve had colds where I felt worse!
I had all shots and boosters, and it’s just my opinion that has moderated my symptoms.
Of course if you have a compromised health condition, if you have symptoms seek professional medical help!

This is from the link provided by the OP

“Booster shots offer necessary protection against infection, serious illness and death from all COVID variants, and are 90% effective at preventing hospitalization from Omicron.”

Almost hesitated to share my experience due to the snarky comments that come forth…
Have a super day!

No, but I'll give 70-30 that is what we end up with:a20:

You are one of the smarter people we have living here in the Villages. You weren't feeling normal and tested for Covid. Many people are getting Covid becasue the Ba.5 variant gets right through any immunity you have vaccinated or not. The problem is people are getting up and feeling a little under the weather or have a stuffy or runny nose for example, nothing bad and they are going about their normal business thinking it's a summer cold or allergies. But most are not testing, have Covid and are spreading it everywhere. This is why we are now wearing masks pretty much everywhere we go. There are some people who have Covid with no symptoms and are out spreading it everywhere but there is nothing we can do about that. The only thing the vaccine will help you is not getting very sick or having to go to the hospital or dying. Still some who are not in good health will still get very sick and or die. The antibodies we have don't see the Ba.5 variant but once infected our T-Cells go to work immediately and fight off the virus. The antiviral Paxlovid works well and from what i understand the CVS over in Wildwood is dispensing it all day long according to someone who works in the pharmacy. To make things worse, eventhough you get Covid you can get it over and over again because there are so many variants. I don't think you can get the same variant more than once. So all this said, Covid is here to stay like the common cold unfortunately. BTW, medicare will pay for up to 8 covid tests per person per month and it's easy to order on-line or get the tests at your local pharmacy so there is no reason not to test.

I’m so tired of the Covid yada and the “P” behind it all. We have the very same corps and experts yadaing now for years making huge $$$. Along with threats of mandates and dividing us all even more.

We are vaxed and double boosted but are living a normal life. I hate to see the tide turning once again with mandates in CA and their schools. And would hate to see that mentality spread over the USA. Didn’t the admin state their #1 goal was to conquer Covid?

Wait until MonkeyPox spreads more and the gvt and pharma sees more money and power there. Big news on that front, but much of the Media not reporting it affects the Gay community 95%. Here we go….

The president has been boosted FOUR times... Keep in mind that variants are normally much weaker than the original virus (but they often spread easier). The majority of people will now be just fine in a few days (if that). If needed, based on actual symptoms/misery, go get tested - and if positive, get the treatment..

“You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,"

“There will be a small percentage of fully vaccinated people who still get sick, are hospitalized, or die from COVID-19“

Who told you this lie? It certainly wasn't the administration, it wasn't WHO, it wasn't CDC.

So, I am curious, where did you find this lie?

The vaccines don't prevent you from getting it or even spreading it. The president had FOUR shots. It's debatable if they even lessen the severity (hopefully, they do..). The severity is now naturally lessened by variants (which are normally weaker, but spread easier). And, the shots have their own risks, especially for young men, which isn't this forum's concern.. If you think you have it, stay home to prevent the spread. If the symptoms are too much or you are worried bc of health concerns, contact the doc to get tested and, if positive, get treatment.

The president said that in July, 2021.

Currently it seems like the covid agenda is to get people to believe that we are vulnerable even with shots and boosters.
Filling the need to keep the public off balance and afraid setting the stage for some future "controls" that could affect an event coming in November.

We have a cruise that month that has already been cancelled 3 times over the past two years. Mask mandate on cruising coming? If it happens we stay home (again).

And so the merry go round continues!
