Just a curious question. Will it be proper for us "old folks" to frequent Middleton's Downtown? Or, would that be considered crass and an invasion of their family-oriented world? I have relatives living there and when I visit, I get glares. The shocked "aren't you supposed to be in your area?" looks. They are not threatening but can be uncomfortable. So, are we supposed to keep to our area while they keep to theirs? I do not want any to feel invaded upon.

Had zero issues going to visit in Middleton, everyone was friendly, kids were polite. Moltry Creek and the next championship, will be next to Middleton. When shopping in grocery, at TV, there are families, neither feels invaded space. Stopped by HS, and met with friendly faces. Kind of surprised you feel uncomfortable around the families living there. Many have parents and grandparents who have been residents for many years. They depend on those parental units to ferry their kids to outside activities, drop off and pick up from school, while parents work

Tonight at Halloween in Brownwood, plenty of outside families, just like years past. Kids having fun, parents interacting with residents. Actually had cute twins about 4yo, offer a sucker from their bucket to us.

Just like any other retail, in TV, it could not succeed with just residents, and No families.

I would try restaurants there, no reason not to support businesses

My experience has been similar. Everyone very friendly and helpful. But! When I walk in the park or come close to their amenities, it is a different story. ( No, I do not use their amenities.) Is their downtown considered an amenity? Or is it public like our town squares? It seems it is obviously public but I want to be respectful.

The retail center will be like all of TV is open to the public. It is supposed to be an open concept of shopping area with no motor vehicles. The hopes of retailers looking at the space is hoping to attract HS kids since it will be close to walking distance, for student employees. The culinary program is very strong, and should enhance learning experience for students.

As far as amenities, I do know grandparents take children to the pool, and park. But then they aren’t roaming around without grands in tow.

In todays world like it or not a single male or female walking around a new family area, parents may take pause and be more observant of a person near children. I wasn’t alone in any of their facilities, with either a grand or parental unit. Can’t really blame parents for being cautious especially with happenings in the past year.

That is probably it. I was looking at lots in Moultrie Creek then went over to the Middleton retail area to get an idea of what was coming. I was walking by myself. From now on, I will have my wife, grandkids, son, or daughter-in-law with me. Like I said, I want to be respectful when I am there.

Middleton is being sold by the Villages as a community for those who work in the Villages. We have rules for children under 19 in our community. I do not have a problem if they set rules and standards for us.

We all have grandkids and there are many children who live in our area. However, we do not see a large number of them in our squares, restaurants, etc. I want to respect their space the way they respect ours. What is irrational about that?

I among others hope there are New restaurants coming, instead of just a repeat of same mediocre restaurants over and over
