It Was Cooler This Morning

Compared to yesterday, it was 2 degrees cooler this morning during my sunrise walk. I even saw a woman, who was walking her dog, who was wearing long pants and a jacket. As Debby moves even further north, the southerly winds will continue to slow and nighttime radiational cooling will return. I expect it to be 1 degree cooler tomorrow morning.

With a heat index of 107° today, 2° made a big difference

The Villages newspaper said it was going to be very hot today and this weekend. Feel like 104 or more.

You mean like most summer days here for the last 5,000 years?

I googled cow farts vs volcanos a little while ago when a couple of these old farts were fussing about CO2 and climate warming, there were a ton of serious hits

That’s an uncontrollable source. Cars and carts are controllable sources. That’s the focus.

The "focus" here is temperature. By the way, as I forecast, this morning's temperature was 1 degree cooler than yesterday. This was thanks to Debby moving farther away -- and by allowing less windy air and more nighttime radiational cooling. It's funny, that with all the hype of super-hot, boiling oceans, Debby only attained Cat 1 status and for a very short time.

I think the whole point of climate change is what historically took 10000+ years to repeat a warming trend, now for the first time in ice core data the change is rapidly occurring more frequent, in 500 years. The only change on the planet is the Industrial Revolution with mankind contributing to air pollution particulates. I think everyone agrees less pollution to our planet the better. Polluting the planet doesn’t help the planet. Striving to be better stewards of the planet is an honorable task.

Hot in PA too

If it’s any consolation it’s about this hot in PA. We just got back to TV yesterday after a month in PA. We hardly went outside at all. No relief in the evening after 5:30 pm because the mosquitoes were like a biblical plague. Dozens of bites very quickly. And yesterday our area in PA had a tornado. River is flooded.

Thinking is fun, but data is better. The only thing that's more rapid these days is climate alarmism, fostered by 24/7/365 media overload. The narrative says crisis ... but the data says hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, droughts, etc are all decreasing as we warm. Plus, the long-term trend is cooling.

Nice graphic

BlackHarley 08-10-2024 07:47 AM

I agree with that data, but it's still freakin' hot.
