Yep, sand rake!

Bunny1 09-21-2024 06:54 PM

This is for a ball retriever. Not a sand rake!

Does anyone carry a sand rake with them???

Does anyone even own one??

I have seen a lot of people with a ball retriever but I never seen anyone carry a sand rake.

Many courses outside the Villages put sand rakes on their rental carts. Bunkers have zero!

My dad carried a sand rank on his bag, and then on his cart, exactly where OPs pic is. Even though in later years rakes were available he always used his, right up until the day he stopped playing. It remains in our garage up north.
He never had a ball retriever, because why would you hold up players. Add the stroke, drop the ball. It’s how I play because of him.

It was about the game how he was taught, and the respect of that course. He would have been 92 this year.
So depending on your golf etiquette, and probably your age, personal rake was just part of the equipment.

That is where I put my ball retriever for the seldom amount of times (I wish !!!!) that I put one in the water. :) All of our courses have rakes so no need to carry one of those. After all, I NEVER go into a sand bunker (I wish !!!!). :)

I squeeze an umbrella in there. Never know when you might need it.

Thanks growing up their house bordered a private CC. The owner allowed him to play after hours for free as long as he respected the course. He and his friend, Carl Rose (of Carls Golfland in MI) played HS golf. So rules were very important to my dad for the honor of playing free golf.
Two rules we had to follow “You don’t penalize the group behind you because you hit poorly, and NO mulligans, because if that mulligan goes in the hole it’s Not a hole in one. It just cheating, yourself.
