Sarasota Practice Range

Does not open until 9am on Wednesday.

Arrived 10 minutes early, okay....no problem.

Went 1/2 down the range, got out a 7 iron to stretch and get loose with.

Standing on a practice pad stretching........an employee cames down and says I can not stand on the pad until after 9am.

Really??............Yes, in case a sub-contractor is working on the pond bulkhead.
(obviously, no sub-contractors in sight)

Hmmmmmmmm

Has to be in the top 10 stupidest rules.

I guess somebody decided it's easier to spot someone standing on the pad from a distance than to determine if he is just practice swinging vs. hitting a ball. I do know they have a lot of weird insurance rules to follow, maybe that's one of them.

The rule makes sense to me.

While working on the pond bulkhead, maybe the worker got down low and a golfer on the range could not see him.

If the range was not open, then you should not have been there.

:ohdear:

There were no workers.

The club vendors were set-up, with balls on their pads.

People were sitting on the benches.

I had no golf balls.

I agree with everything you said except the top 10 stupidest rules. I think I could find 10 rules that are more stupid.

Maybe he’s one of the self anointed privileged entitled who can’t wait FOR 10 MINUTES. He doesn’t think that others may see him out there and play “follow the leader” and strut out to the mats also and start preening themselves with their ill fated attempts with less than stellar swings.

So employee, asked you to step off the mat. Others were patiently waiting for the open time to begin. You could have waited stretched away from the mat waiting for official open. If the mat is the only way to keep balance instead of just stretching away from the mat, yoga might help. Instead an employee had to be sent out to only you.

You informed to wait, but sometimes, your personal agenda is far more important than a business that has a dedicated open and close time. I get it, special people personal agenda, happens everyday.

So you were in or on a place of business before they were open?? Are you allowed to be in Publix before they are open even if you're not shopping?
