the economy lost over 600k jobs.

Guest 07-08-2011 11:29 AM

That is quite a feat. First month, and down ever since. LOL

Pretty pathetic for your first shot.

NINE (9) POINT(.) TWO (2) PERCENT (%)

And that's the Obama "Recovery"!

Guest 07-08-2011 11:53 AM

Actor: Just out of curiosity, what timeframe are you quoting that 600K job loss number from?

Are we forgetting that, for the last 3 months before the stimulus package was signed (meaning the last 3 months of the Bush presidency) we were losing an average of 750,000 jobs PER MONTH?

A 0.1% 'jump' in unemployment is statistically insignificant. After all, it dropped just before that.

It would appear that we're "treading water" with only something in the 3%+ range of GDP growth (based on what I'm reading today) versus needing a 5.0%+ growth number to REALLY get the unemployment rate down.

But I can't stop thinking about how the Great Recession is *OVER* for executives.

600k jobs in January 2009. Obama took office on 1/20/09. Obviously people are unhappy about today's jobs number, justifiably so. My only point is that Bush put this country in such a big hole that it's going to take a lot longer than anyone imagined to right the ship. Blaming Obama for all our ills is crazy, but that's what you get on this forum.

It seems to me that BlueHeronFan and so many of the other uber-conservatives are very unpatriotic people. I would hesitate to even call them loyal Americans. BlueHeronFan actually seems glad the unemployment rate has gone higher so he can crow about President Obama failing. How can a person have so much venom and hate about the President that was duly elected by a majority of real Americans that he wishes failure on his country?

Good Question

and you can include some others here. I remember how clear it was that certain posters were angry that Obama was the one who got OBL.

I definitely would not consider the political viewpoint of many Villagers who read and drink the Morse Kool-Aid his Happy News newspaper expounds and his imposing control over right wing visits by political celebrities inline with mainstream thinking. Then we have a Republican majority House that will impede progress and line for the better of the nation for political gain.

Then again there is the fuzzy Math issue. The Bureau of Labor lists October 2010 at 9.6%. Granted the recent 9.1% is not where we want it. It did go up .1% in the last month. Is there an influx of college grads not able to find work?

I agree is unpatriotic to hope your president and Congress fails to solve our nation's issues.

Add this one to the category of something to make you think.

Canada announced THEIR employment statistics. They added 28,400 new jobs last month.

Canada has ONE TENTH our population and yet they added something under TWICE as many jobs with their VERY LARGE tax structures.

In other words, if Canada had our population, that would be like adding a quarter of a million jobs in a single month.

It's official.

Downright amazing how some people can be hateful in such a wonderful place as The Villages, isn't it?

Even though it rained most of the day, it was still a beautiful day in The Villages. I worked for a couple of hours at a food bank, had a good dinner and couple of drinks at Cody's, and just enjoyed life. Hope everyone else did too.

Yes, even to you, BlueHeron, hope you had a great day and got rid of some of your hatred by writing your posting to this forum. Perhaps you should seek some professional counseling for your anger management issues.:beer3:

I do not think anybody wants Obama to fail, but many people feel that his policies are not good, so they want him to change his policies. August reports are terrible for jobs.Zero jobs.
