Cost of Cottage/Designer Lots
What is the approximate range of costs for a "lot" for a Cottage or Designer Home? I see the range of costs for the homes but assume the lots are in addition to those fees, unlike Patio and Courtyard Villa's..
Thanks |

Go to the link below. At the top of the page it will show you the new neighborhoods where the lots are being sold. (olive green/forsale-brown/sold) Next click on the "olive green" lot and that will give you the price of the lot. The bright green lots are ones with houses already built and for sale.

Ebsmom. I did the same thing as most of us have done.
I kept a book with floorplans and kept track of how much they sold for. The lots with no upcharge are ones that back directly on another house. The prices go up due to views and privacy. Backing directly on another house has it's ups and downs and most people focus on the downs. It is nice a safe feeling to have someone your own age behind you. Most backdoor neighbors don't have wild parties or throw trash in your yard and many backdoor neighbors share their stuff with you like a too big Birthday cake and show you pictures of their grandkids...who they think are cuter than yours...but they are too polite to say it. Every home and yard and view and placement here is new and nice and fun. Except for that one place in the other village who lives next to the grouch. ;) |

I just bought a new cottage home in the Village of Sanibel. I did'nt want to spend a ton of money on a lot so for 1K I'm on an interior lot, 1 house away from the corner.

Does anyone know what the cost of a bond is for those homes in Mission Hills?

lot prices
We looked at homes there and we were told by the agent that the bond was the same for all the homes no matter whether it is an inside lot, water view lot, corner lot being $15,000. This is not gospel but that is what he said. The thing I couldn't figure out was we looked at one water view and then an inside lot and the water view was $130,000 more for a smaller house that the inside lot with a bigger and I would say nicer upgrades. We were also told that the designer picked out what would be in eash home and that we would have no choices. He said that if we want white cabinets we could only have them if they were in the inventory so I guess they want to get rid of what they have in thier warehouse.

We've had two view lots on golf courses. Yes, they are more expensive, but IMHO, the privacy factor is priceless! We have a retention pond that pretends to be a lake. We always have birds fishing and frogs singing. No guarantee of much water, but a real treat during rainy season. |
