Pack of coyotes

We just left TV this week but heard that a pack of
coyotes have been spotted on a golf course.
A friend told me her little Maltese was taken by
a coyote from her backyard which backs to a
golf course. She was in tears telling me this
story. Apparently, the coyote was very fast
and took the little dog even though she was
standing just a few feet away.

Please watch your little animals.

Coyotes are not a protected species. These animals should be trapped and removed.

Please tell us what village and/or what golf course.

This is very troubling indeed. I am very sad for your friend.

Why would you have a hard time believing this one? While I don't know if it's true or not. What I do know is that coyotes run in packs, they do eat dogs and they have been spotted in The Villages.

Nothing like calling someone a liar that you probably don't even know to get in on a conversation of something that dog owners are very much concerned with.

wild coyote packs in your yard is about as likely as winning the powerball !

It is in most dictionaries. 1a : an affinity, association, or relationship between persons or things wherein whatever affects one similarly affects the other b : mutual or parallel susceptibility or a condition brought about by it c : unity or harmony in action or effect <every part is in complete sympathy with the scheme as a whole —

Calling them a liar is not a standard meaning of the word:cus:

I an deeply sorry that they lost a valued member of their family. This loss is tragic.

Oren L Miller 01-07-2012 09:22 AM

some people do win the powerball

Well there is a few up here in Chatham. We live on flintlock terrace our backyard is a horse ranch. At night you can hear them yippy allover so yes there are here just not "in the villages" Now as far as taking a small dog in front of the owner that's a stretch for me as when you hear them at night if you even go to the fences edge they quite down really quick. Just FYI for the group...

paulandjean 01-07-2012 11:13 AM

I am not calling anyone a liar. When did this happen? Where did this happen?Who did this happen to?A person said a friend of mine, and then disappears with any other facts. Hey people "Lighten Up ". Just because somebody says something on here its not fact. Maybe the person is real. real old and has the facts wrong.

Coyotes

I was hoping to make people with small dogs or cats
aware of a potential danger. However, I will try
to get some additional information for you. I also
have two small white dogs so she wanted to warn
me but I was leaving the next day.

Do not underestimate coyotes as we live in downtown
Vancouver and just recently government signs have been posted
up saying:

Leash your dog, coyotes spotted in area.

Yes....downtown Vancouver with lots of people,
houses, apartments, stores, etc.

I suppose people who do not have family pets could
care less but the rest of us do care and will listen up.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of this little dog. You are right that telling a story on TOTV doesn't make it fact. But that doesn't mean it's fiction. Or that the person is real, real old.

Coyotes normally avoid humans, but these days they're getting more used to crowded conditions and to people. Coyotes can be especially dangerous when in packs, or if they have babies nearby.

Why not express sympathy and keep an open mind.
