Laundry Room sink useful to you?

Here is a heavy-duty question for you.

How often and for what purposes do you use your laundry room sink?

The underlying question is: If space is limited, do you feel having the sink is useful or would you cap it off and use the space for something else?

Personally, we want a work sink for: scrubbing cart mats, washing out paint brushes, rinsing the leaves on plants, cleaning up dirty golf shoes from early morning dewy golf, hand washing golf carts seat covers... I think you get the idea, depends on your level of necessity.

I had a work sink in my previous home but don't have one in my current home.
It is on my to-do list...to get one installed....for all of the reasons posted by Peachie. I use it to hand wash some clothing items, too. After gardening, it's nice to wash up in the garage and not bring any dirt into the house.I usually wear CROCS shoes when gardening and toss them in the work sink and wash them off. Easy peasy!

I'll add to that washing birdcage parts. Doing hand laundry. When not in use, we park the recycle bag in there and keep it open.

We didn't put one in our last home and regretted it.

gotta have a "working" sink for jobs like mentioned in above posts...as well as washing paint brushes and other stuf you don't want in the kitchen sink.

Could not do without my laundry sink. We use it to wash up after gardening, washing golf clubs, filling bucket to wash car, etc, etc, etc

Love my laundry sink for all the activities mentioned previously. We have a CYV and the sink is in the garage. IMHO that is the better location for the sink than having it inside the home in the laundry room. You leave your mess out in the garage instead of bringing it into the house.

Looking to buy a new designer soon and although not a deal breaker, I would prefer the location of the sink to ne in the garage instead of the laundry room. The space inside the laundry room is better served for a storage cabinet.

George, from a woman's perspective... I want mine in the laundry room. It would be nice to have a utility sink in the garage too, I guess, but on those really hot days the air-conditioned laundry room in the house is perfect for any sink chores. (We also have tile floors so any mess is pretty well controlled.)

I could take it or leave it, but it takes up so little room in the garage I guess I'll keep it!
Comes in handy every once in a while.

Found a new use for mine; washing pillows. You know how if you put bed pillows in the washer they get so laden with water it makes the tub shut down?

Just put hot soapy water in the utility sink and add tide and then the pillow. Be sure it is saturated and let it soak for several hours and then let the water out and press the water out of the pillow and rinse in the same manner.

I air dry the pillow for awhile and then carefully supervise it in the dryer.

We put a utility sink in the garage and used the space in in laundry room for a closet to store vacuum cleaner etc. works well for us.

We use our sink pretty often, and we like it….. yes well, our cat don't like it.
