Meet and Greet New Singles 2014
 

Speaking for a group of a few dozen singles who came together at home parties and group gatherings in 2013, we welcome those who've lost mates, singles just moving here and lurkers who never thought they'd come to a singles thing... to become part of our community.

We are developing a network of friends who have relaxed fun in small groups, count on each other and are truly present to help, and what a foundation for hanging out at each other's homes to enjoy games, football, foooooood...

If you are new, the old meet and greet thread that you can look at has a brilliance of info on what went on in 2013.

So step up and introduce yourself. What's your story? The next thing you know, we'll be making up a lunch event to get to know you. Some bold person to this new thread, go first!

We aren't a club, no regular meetings, etc. We do help each other to the nth degree, and we don't want anybody to be lonely...so ask if you need something while you are visiting or in your move.

Hi! I'm Quirky3, and I have had the pleasure of meeting many of the TV singles. I can't wait until I retire (hopefully at the end of this year) and move to TV. In the meantime, I hope to visit and attend as many weekend gatherings as I can! It's a group of sweet, caring, and genuine people!

Hi all, I'm new here, coming to TV in couple weeks to see what all the excitement is about! Would like to attend some get-togethers and meet some other singles if possible. I'm staying with friends from 1/26 to 2/6 who live in TV already. Thanks!

we sometimes organize a casual meet at the porch of the sales office when newbies are coming to town....if you are free monday night of that week, i think a few of us could arrange to meet you and give you some suggestions for going out. keep in touch. your time here will fly by!

ok, everybody who is lurking on here, let's get out and welcome hank on monday night the 27th at the front porch of the sales office in LSL. if we meet around seven we can stay and chat for an hour or so and then those who want to head over for the singles dancing at the Waterfront Inn will still have plenty of time to do that. i hope we will have a good welcoming committee and that it will be a nice night to sit outside! if it is chilly we can always adjourn to panera's. :) plan on it!

LOL! I have this event calendared...Monday is Waterfront Inn dance night too. that would be fun if we want to mosey over there awhile.

We do love each other, don't we? Who knew a thread on totv would turn into a gang of single folks who are there for each other? mmm, it's so good.

As a beneficiary of the kindhearted, generous, single friends that I met on TOTV and who helped me move into my new home, when I was recovering from the flu, I would like to assure anyone who is a little worried about taking the big step of moving to the Villages, as a single, that our group is here to welcome you and make the transition as easy as possible.

Hi Happy lady, if you could just watch this thread, we'll be making up a gathering for you and other new people. I think the next might be Monday, Jan. 27 at Lake Sumter on the west side of sales ofc where there's a porch near the square. If that isn't ok for you to come to, let us know and we'll work out something else for you.

and so what's your name and where you are from and some history, what interests you have, why you wanna be in TV?? Loving all newcomers...welcome.

I have to say neither Joe nor Kate are simple beneficiaries of the love...these people are each too awesomely generous and welcoming to their homes for words. You just have to go there...man. we so rock.

Hi, I'm not new to The Villages as my wife and I have been snowbirds for the last 3 years. After a long and courageous battle with cancer she passed last month. I have been a dedicated follower of TOTV and have noticed these posts in the past and thought how friendly and outgoing several of the posters are. Now, it is my time to get involved in a new circle of people. I would like to meet up with "the group" on Monday, 1/27. Thank you, Chris.

Chris, my sympathy on the loss of your beloved. I'm glad you are wanting to get out. Looking forward to meeting you! Monday's sposed to be a little chilly but not too much for being out...

Quirky Terri, I am so glad you came on NYE and hope to see you more on our weekend events. If you ever want a place to stay overnight, I have a futon in my guest room that can be earmarked for you, Girl. Hope to see you soon!

chris, i want to add my sincere condolences and also to assure you that you will be most welcome on the 27th or at any other function you care to join. losing a spouse is something that many of us understand, unfortunately. you will not be alone.

Hi, am a single lady (widow) that moved here about a year ago. Am so looking for other single people to connect with. Love playing golf, tennis and am getting into pickleball too. A luncheon sounds fun and hopefully a good way to meet and greet and maybe learn other activites to get involved in. Kathy

we are getting together to welcome hank, a visitor. if it is cold we will be in panera's. after chatting for about an hour, there is still time for monday night at the waterfront or dinner or whatever anyone wants to do....meeting at 7pm. too bad last night's block party was too cold to really enjoy. this is for the 27th of jan.

What you are doing sounds like a great idea. While I have been very active since coming to the Villages in October, I haven't been in too many small group settings where you can just hang with friends. I'm excited about getting out of Arkansas next weekend and meeting all of you on Monday night at the sales office! Been watching the weather and sadly your temps are pretty close to ours! I'll be around for a week or so, so if anyone would be interested in tennis, walking, mini-golf, whatever, let me know!

Hey that was fun y'all! some of us went on to waterfront and then city fire. I had a blast. you all are more fun the better I know you. We get to rib and test each other. Larry has actually bet me against Denver. I had the most fun tonight of anybody. That's really what it's about. We truly love each other and compete for who has most fun. and also, I am blessed to know the Lord. Many of us do.
