59 acres is an awfully small spread for Texas.

Is that a golf course I am looking at? Did I miss the swimming pool?

You get what you pay for.

You could build a nine hole golf course or an 18 hole par three course on it.

But you'd also have to build a clubhouse and parking lot etc. You'd also have to figure out where your clientele would come from.

It's over 200 miles to San Antonio, the nearest population center.

So when are you moving?

Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, began selling land tracts via mail order in The Villages area in the 1960s. He and his business partner Al Tarrson were put out of business by a 1968 Federal law that banned mail order sales of real estate.

Schwartz began to buy large tracts of land in nearby Sumter and Marion counties for future expansion. In 1992 Morse officially changed the overall development name to The Villages. The gates appear to be very sturdy. Will keep the rif-raf out. Probably not many gators to worry about either.

That looks like a beautiful home and the Zillow estimate is even less than the asking price.

To me, the only major thing wrong with the house that would bring the value way, way down is IT IS LOCATED IN TEXAS!!!

It has a gate...it's a gated community. A prospective buyer would have to find out if there are any power lines nearby to bring elctricity. You would need to put in a water well with an electric pump etc. No electric; no deal. :ohdear:

Shhh! People from Texas are quite proud of their state. Most of them display Lone Stars on their houses to show their pride.

Being from Texas, I can tell you that you will have rattlesnakes, coyotes, buzzards and other beautiful neighbors in this area. You will NOT have cable TV, cell phone service or water and sewer. You will need to drill over 2500 feet to get water and keep your fingers crossed that there will be water there. It will be brutally hot in summer, cold in winter and a nice breezy day will have wind 35 MPH. I am sure it would be a long cart ride to play golf. :-)

Oh, and if you want more seclusion, drive on down to Marfa, TX. Big Bend is a great place to visit, but no one CAN live there. Lol

Florida still has a lot of undeveloped land you can purchase and the nearest doctor and hospital would be much closer than this Texas "no place" ranch.

A small ranch on 42 somewhere between Weirsdale and Paisley looks better to me.
