Addict update

I know many of you doubted it was real when I posted
the warning previously. But the heroin addict was handcuffed
at the pool bathroom today by the Sheriffs Dept.

Job well done!

I rest my case.......................

Bogie Shooter 02-14-2014 04:49 PM

Obviously there is a whole lot more to this story.........................

What pool?

Cobh521 02-14-2014 05:08 PM

Did you post the warning about them using pool restroom for a long period of time? I vaguely remember something about that.

raynan 02-14-2014 06:02 PM

Never doubted you JIMROY. Good observation. Great job!

Thanks Jim! And thanks for giving credit to the great guys and gals of the Sheriff's dept.

buggyone 02-14-2014 11:26 PM

Is this drug addict a Villages resident? What was the person charged with? Were they taken to jail or released on bond? Lots of facts are missing. Start a story is good but fill in the meat on the bones otherwise it is useless information.

Is there a newspaper article or a sheriff's report somewhere that we can read? Was the heroin addict charged with trafficking? I don't doubt your word at all, just looking for additional information.

graciegirl 02-15-2014 06:58 AM

Those posters who know and especially the OP, PLEASE tell us what happened. Where and how. I can't find any mention of this in the Sun or the other online news this morning.

It was warm yesterday, but for me at least not warm enough for swimming. RobRoy? Tell us more. Seems like you were a witness to this event.

Thanks for letting us know. You were chastised when you posted that, as many newbies were around that time. Sorry you had to deal with that. As my friend over there said at the time, why would I make this stuff up. And all the robberies turned out to be true also. Glad the problem was handled...hope it sticks.

According to what Jim wrote he observed the woman arrested by the Sheriffs Department. Questions about what she was charged with, is she incarcerated or was she charged with drug trafficking would not be known to him. All he did was report what he saw. If more information is wanted I am sure it is available from the Sherrifs Dept under FOIL.

gomoho 02-15-2014 08:39 AM

Well he knew enough to say she is a heroin addict so why wouldn't we expect he knew more. I think the issue is many of us are unaware of his original post about this situation. Just looking for clarification - no harm meant.

graciegirl 02-15-2014 09:14 AM

I feel that absolutely no harm was meant by responders, Lovey2.

I don't think that people are questioning that it happened, just wondering HOW it happened and WHERE it happened and WHEN it happened.

I wish the OP would tell us more and maybe say something like this;

"Yesterday, I was sunning at the Sanibel pool, and the person that comes in a lot and uses the restroom and some regulars have always suspected to be involved with drugs was arrested by the sheriff's office when someone saw her with drug paraphernalia and called the sheriff. She was removed from the bathroom and led away in handcuffs at about three o'clock on February 14th. None of us know for sure who she is but feel relieved she was arrested."

For speed readers, my summary above was pure

Speculation.

JBarracks 02-15-2014 09:45 AM

This, I hope, is best for her.

graciegirl 02-15-2014 09:55 AM

Thanks.

And I will be patient. We will know sooner or later. Or not.

I saw a blonde haired woman sitting in the back of a sheriff's car on her cell phone at the Sanibel pool yesterday 2/14 around 4 pm something. I am assuming this is what the OP is referring to. There was a second sheriff's SUV there as well. Didn't see much else as the parking lot was packed with folks popping in and out to get their mail.

Thank you Jc and John.

Great job.

Rango 02-15-2014 02:01 PM

She'll probably be out on bail and back at the pool soon.

sharonga 02-15-2014 02:25 PM

I live in Sanibel. The other day I was coming home from Colony, in my golf cart. A woman was riding her bike and talking on the phone, weaving back and fourth. Tried to pass her and could not. Stopped the cart and yelled "Excuse me, can you move to the side" WELL, she opened up a sewer mouth not to be believed. Her head turned and she looked like the Excorsist. I almost pulled her off the bike!!!! I was able to get ahead of her. She disappeared after entering the gate. Wonder if it could be her. Because my first thought was that she didn't look like she belonged here.

gomoho 02-15-2014 04:09 PM

It certainly would certainly help inquiring minds if the OP or someone else would provide a link to the initial warning the OP refers to.

I think "JB in TV" posted the link yesterday in his/her post.

It was from the thread Burglary on Adrienne Way.

This was his original post about this person. BELOW.

Now this woman has been arrested and those that questioned this post were wrong. Including me. But to defend us. We just wanted more information and I still don't see anything wrong with that. When someone posts something worrisome, then naturally people want to know more. And many wanted to know why she wasn't reported. We never did figure it out and I still wonder about how this all happened. I don't understand why asking questions is wrong. Something so troubling makes us all curious.

There is a heroin addict living right near that home. She frequents the
Sanibel pool to shoot up in the bathroom. She also hooks up many of her
purchases in the parking area there or on her street. ( we have told her not
to use the bathroom anymore as she ties it up for 30 minutes at a time )
I think this may be why the breakins are localized.............

Wow if that's the case she has a big time enabler. Sad for all involved. I have little to no patience for the addict or the enabler but thankfully I don't know how I'd react as I have been fortunate to not have family in that situation.

You should have said what pool it happened

How do you know that she was arrested for Heroin use? It appears by some posts that she was arrested for something...but how do you know the particulars? Id hate to be assuming someone to be a doper without any knowledge of that.....just saying.....

I walked to Sanibel to get my mail. The Sheriff deputies were searching her and putting drugs on the Deputies' car hood.
I walked right close to the Sheriff's car as they were cuffing and arresting her. :a040:

Until you walk in someone's shoes - glad you realized that at the end of your statement. It is a horrendous situation for the user and the family. Pray for them both.

What is the approximate age of the person in question? Basically, is she a grown child living with parents or is she an owner here? Yes, I know that someone under 55 can live in The Villages.

Also, if she did get arrested yesterday and was back home today, that was some very fast bonding out.

I would say middle forties. She looked pretty ruff so it's hard to judge.

Let's see.....eye-witness accounts(two) of a person being arrested at a pool with what appeared to be drugs on the hood of a police vehicle. This all after eye-witness accounts of "suspicious" activity by the individual arrested.(I say suspicious because there are some on this board that will dispute this information) Now this type of post is considered unreliable because more specific details have not yet been provided. (who, what, when, where-by the way, that's what journalists are PAID for) I'm surprised anybody EVER post anything they see. Please people, ignore some of this and continue to post what you see. Some of us trust your assessment....

You know jbdifan, if you read every post on this thread I don't see a one questioning the credibility of the OP. just asking further questions about what happened. There are three or four that say that the OP was badly treated, but people were responding to this very interesting bit of information wanting to know more. That is just natural. Now later, two more people who did know more have added to the information, so we have a little better idea of what happened. Some know the person arrested well enough to know she was on her driveway after this happened, but we don't know her. We don't go to that pool and that is the reason we are curious. There isn't any thing wrong with that. I don't see why people get upset when further information is requested. The folks taking issue with our questions seem to be the folks who know what happened. But we don't know other than some woman got arrested at some pool. Now we know the Sanibel pool.

Happinow 02-15-2014 11:26 PM

Gracie, don't you think if the OP had more detailed information he would post it? Is it HIS job to do the detective work to get more information? It would have been nice to have asked if anyone had additional info and not appear to question the OP's information. From the way I read some of the posts, it sure seemed like people were asking the OP for more info, which he clearly didn't have. Sometimes information comes in a little here and a little there. If that's the best anyone can do then people should be grateful for that. When people give information do you think they would intentionally leave out pertinent information? They leave it out because they don't have it. Please be appreciative for what people do post. I saw the person that the OP is talking about in her driveway today because she lives at the end of my road. Now I didn't post how much her bail/ bond was, what time she got released, how she got home, etc., because I do not know that, but I thought that people would still like to know she was out of jail. Please give us reporters a break with all of the detail work. We will report what we know. If you need to know more, then I suggest you wait for the newspaper or other news source to give their report. Just in case you doubt that I saw her today, her name is Linda L. So when the report is made public you can read that she was released on the same day she was arrested and I actually did see her. Hope this helps clear some things up.
