Does anyone else name their cars?
I used to name my cars before I got remarried ( wife thought it was stupid).
I had 1 1964 Chevy Nova called "Betsy" ( my favorite name) and a '70's Dodge called "Death Wish". The last named car was" BB" because when I bought it used it had a bumper sticker proclaiming that the driver was "Beyond Bitch". I kept the bumper sticker because the woman I bought it from was my ex-wife. By extension does anyone name their golf cart? If so what name. |

Rusty and Rags
When I was a teenager my car was named Rusty...When my first wife left and I was broke again my cars name was Rags. I really hope I will not be forced to name any more cars but thank God life is not done with me yet.

I had a 1976 yellow and white hardtop OLDS named Daisy...a 1985 white and dark maroon Pontia hard top called Precious. My daughter and her children always name their cars? Kinda become a family tradition:)

I've had a Sally, a Babycakes, a POS and My Toy. Strangely, I never really named my favorite car of all time -- my Yenko Camaro was just The Yenko.
My golf carts are just carts, no name. My GPS is Mr. Nag or the Nag. |
Vincent van
We had a ford van named Vincent Van.
We used to say Vincent Van goes...LOL! |
Car is "No Name"

but cart looked like an obvious name of "Tessie" |
One of my cars, '94 BMW 5 series was called Brumhilda. A friend name it that and it just stuck.

First car was a 1949 Plymouth Deluxe named the Hindenberg. Over the years, I have named every car. Currently have a black Volvo named Onyx. Cart is a 2003 36 volt named Miss Emma. Poor Miss Emma is probably the slowest cart in TV when going uphill and therefore deserves the respect of the title Miss!

When we were dating, my husband's Austin Healy (old and decrepit) was named Car. Then we had two full size Dodge vans. The first was Charlevan, the second had no name till we moved to NJ, registered it, and they gave us the license plate BOB (followed by some numbers). No more nameable cars till 2005, when R bought what I thought was the meanest looking car we ever had, a black Dodge Magnum 8 cylinder Hemi. It was variously called Hearse, Mobmobile and Mafia Car by our friends, but we came to call it Snarky. Still have it.

I had a car called "The Horny Hornet" ,,,,,, er that was my bird. :G
I called it that, as it was always raring to go. Good car, with little problems as the dealership, was the best at taking care of problems. Maybe that's why he went out of business. An AMC, car that was worth every penny, I paid for it. It was also ugly but beautiful to me as i put on over 100,000 miles before selling. |
The first one we named was a bright red 1977 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. The kids started it, but finally we all called it "Big Red."
Later we got a 2001 Cadillac DeVille DHS, which I wanted to call "Hal," the name of the spaceship computer in 2001, A Space Odyssey. My wife hated the movie because of the weird ending, so the name was vetoed. Currently, the golf cart, which I bought for Barbara is named after her nickname, "Aunt Bee" with a picture of a bee on the front. |
