April 12 Singles & April Birthdays Party
It is my turn to host a singles non-club party in The Villages. It is April 12, 2014, 6 PM. Bring a pot luck dish and any alcohol you wish to drink. Everything else will be provided.
Suggested food division: Last name begins with A to H ..... main dish I to P...... side dish, salad, vegetables, etc Q to Z ..... appetizers or desserts Since Kitty and others set this April party date as one to celebrate the singles in our non-group who have April birthdays, I'll ask Kitty to arrange with some others to join in on a cake and whatever else birthday stuff she had in mind instead of the above food schedule. PM me for RSVP and address. All TOTV singles are invited. To date, the size of the turnout has not been so large that the hosts' houses could not hold them all, but I guess at some point we might have to cut off the acceptance list. |
PS: I expect to be away from my computer this weekend, so do not worry about my delayed reply.
|
I'm in. Sent PM, as requested.

Hey, I love this! I wanted a birthday party and Bill is hosting it!
He's left some ideas up to moi, so....Let's celebrate history for all of us. Everybody bring a photo or two of yourself in your past life and there will be prizes for the winners in categories that will be spontaneously made up based on what photos you bring....like cutest, goofiest, most likely to succeed, score of 10, most athletic... |
I would also like to come and will pm you, Bill.

Sounds good Kitty. To all: It is not too late for me to say that I should have asked first for input on using last names to give folks some idea of what to bring. No one has complained yet about it, but if most prefer just bringing whatever, that is fine with me. I shamelessly copied the last name idea from another affair which I thought worked well. If "we" use this "system", and again in the future, I guess the type of foods the different names bring should be rotated. |
bump.

If you have room for one more I would like to attend ur party. As per suggestion I would be more than happy to bring a dessert. Need ur address. Duckhunter/Bob
|
Hey Bob, you might be too big. LOL. I want to see your truck, so bring it, OK?
|
Count me in "maybe". What is your address Bill?

|
something i screwy with our threads so am bumping this one as the party is this saturday night!
|
Hey everybody! Reminder to bring a picture of yourself from yesteryear. Child, high school, baby....
see you at Bill's. Kitty |
Some have asked what I'll be serving, so I guess it is time I decided. I'll provide a main dish of baked ham.
I have over 20 seats at tables, but more people than that might come. I have table space for over 30. If you can bring a chair for table-height eating, you can put it in your car in case it is needed. I confess, I rarely remember the bring-a-chair part! |
If you do not like ham, remember others should also be bringing a main dish of either some kind of meat or a non-meat dish relatively high in protein.
For those who are new to pot-luck dish land, your contributed dish should serve at least 6 to 8 people, more of course if 2 guests are combining on one dish. |
i will make sweet potatoes with brown sugar, cinnamon, marshmallows, pecans etc :)

Here's Bill and ?

HEY - WE CAN ROCK STEADY and continue our 60s partying - after Bill's 4/12 party --if some want to do this -- for a WOODSTOCK party/dance from 8 - Midnight at Lighthouse Point, Lake Sumter Landing, per their ad. This party/dance is also on tonight, but last night is Sat. Apr. 12...."Dress, feel, breathe the ERA OF THE 60's" ... with their famous Rock Steady Band !

Bill,
i had basal cell surgery on my nose yesterday & the bandage is so hugh that i feel like frankenstein so in order not to scare your guest, i will take a rain check and stay home. Sorry, i was so looking forward to your party. Tell everyone "hello" for me. Sandra (retiredsfw) |

I don't think it would bother anyone, so feel free to change your mind at any time. |
yes, sandra, please change your mind...we don't scare easy! :)
|

The Origin of the Species, and such. And you know the only thing that rhymes with "species".....:1rotfl: The baby pictures were so cute!!!! Bill and I each had pix of ourselves playing in a washtub...what a coincidence! Bill's picture was 3 kids in a wooden tub and mine was me naked at about 3 years with a black puppy (his name was peanut) in an aluminum washtub. So Bill says to me with envy, "Hey, you had your own washtub"...and I respond, "Yeah, I was born with an aluminum spoon in my mouth." Ain't this fun? I really love you guys. |
Thanks guys. Although my team "won" on the Origin of the Species title because none of cha cha's team guessed it, I later then also failed to act it out well enough for cha cha's team to guess it. After everyone left I realized that I should have forsaken acting out the words and simply used the idea or subject, in this case, evolution, something we could easily have done. I have used the "subject" method before, and just never thought of it during this game. Getting old.
|
Bill, thanks for a great dinner and party. Great time!
|
Hey Bill:
Great party and host!!!! Charade were great after I had my nap............. er.............. Remember, The Bye....... blurb.blurb,blurb,blurb.....bull. Otherwise known as "The Bible". A shout out to all the morning morning quarterbacks, as to how this should have been enacted. :D BTW - My team won!!!! Who woulda thunk it!!!! |
I'll add my thanks to that! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time when I realized what "sounds like" 'species'. Could have been a Saturday Night Live skit. Great to see the new and familiar faces! Thanks Bill!
|
I would also like to add my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Bill as well. It was another night to remember. Chachacha almost topped Ronnye's "okay" performance. LOL
